Aren’t tags supposed to explain the content or the things that are related to it? If you mention a pairing ‘cause it’s relevant for your text/fic/meta why don’t add it to the tags? You’ve been doing quite good with them IMHO

I'm just going to tag it "stony fwb" or "stony 1ns" so the "superhusb*nds" people don't turn up confused.

I don't ship superhusb*nds. My ships, as we all know, are stucky and/or/aka wintershield, american airlines, barbershop quartet, and pepperony; I can be persuaded to enjoy tin can boyfriends, but superhusb*nds is right out, it doesn't work for me.

I'm not saying YOU can't ship it. I'm just saying I don't. YMMV is the rule of thumb around here. My regulars know this.

Sure, but the post you tagged wasn't about the fic. It was about why you think they're incompatible. Your fic wasn't mentioned anywhere in your post; even if it started the conversation you were having, that doesn't mean every post in reference to that fic is relevant to the tag. Anyway, this is the last message you'll get from me, I don't mean to harass you.

Oh, trust me, Stony shippers are the least of my problems. The bulk of my hatemail comes from D*rcy L*wis stans. Who can kick rocks, they’re the ones that made me hate her.

Anyway, I’m going to grumble, because I’m feeling saucy. “Friends with Benefits” is a kind of ship. A one-night stand is still a kind of sexual relationship, even if it’s not a long-term emotional relationship. If Steve and Tony are fucking, talking about fucking, or implying they might fuck, it qualifies as Stony, whether or not it’s a boyfriend fic, which is what I was saying:

I occasionally ship Stony FWB

I occasionally ship Stony 1NS

I don’t ship Superhusbands (Stony LTR), but I still do ship Stony, which is what I said.

So I still don’t see what your problem is, honestly.

But whatever. Tag purists for anything but outright ship hate are whatever.

It wasn't confusing! It's very easy to know who's talking if one's a usual reader of your fics. It's really easy and it's amazing to see WS!Bucky's POV. I love how both Buckys keep fighting over Steve and how he deals with them :)

One thing I loved about writing both of those fics was the inherent contrast in how Bucky and Steve deal with their old selves.

I want to take everybody aside and whisper to them that old!Bucky is not just pre-Fall Bucky, he's pre-War Bucky. He hasn't even left Brooklyn for boot camp yet. He makes WS Bucky furious.

Whereas pre-serum Steve... is just Steve. Steve hasn't really changed all that much, except that he knows that, as crappy as his life was before, it can get worse, so he should value what he has while he's got it. This a Steve whose mantra is basically a combination of Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky, and If I had it to do over again, I would have made sure he knew how much he meant to me before he was gone.

It's a different thing entirely.
