1/100 Kotobukiya HMM Z001— Z-A03 TYPE K Z-KNIGHT
One of the best kits I’ve built thus far. Kotobukiya did a fantastic job in making this kit feel as if it were an action figure. Everything looks amazing, the joints are tight, and it has a ton of poseability. It’s still model quality plastic though, so you can’t play around with it like an action figure, but if posing is your game this is a great kit. The gunsword can be held in two different ways, and it has chest and face opening gimmicks, which I didn’t bother to showcase, but they’re not too spectacular.
I just wish they would’ve included a little pilot figure. The sculpted seat is tiny, but they should’ve been able to do something to include a pilot. I really miss the little old gold chromed pilots of ZOIDS. These models are also a lot smaller than the original TOMY Z-Knights too, which is a bummer, but whaddya gonna do; at least they’re making Z-Knights again! Well, probably just this one and Marine Kaizer. I have yet to get Marine Kaizer though as he’s a bit pricier, which is weird because I had Marine Kaizer in the house as a kid and not this guy. Oh well....
As far as the story line goes, I guess ZOIDS technology somehow made it to another planet and that planet’s inhabitants started constructing humanoid looking type ZOIDS for battle.
