Part 10 of Chrono Trigger. Racist blue robots can’t keep the yellow robot down, man!
Review of Z Nation (Spoilers)
I had read the reviews online for this tv series, and even though they were negative, I hoped with all my heart that it would turn out alright. There's a shortage of good creepy tv shows out there. Alas, it was not to be.
My heart sunk when the corny dialogue began. Over-dramatic and smothered in cheese almost like every teenage girl ever to the point of nausea. Still, I held onto my hope. Many of my favorite shows started out like little balls of over-dramatic cheese and then blossomed into beautiful poutines that I could enjoy and grow fat on. But it just got worse.
There wasn't a pause in the gory action and over-dramatic cheese curds to give the flowering plot the life that it needed. They didn't write a single character that I gave two shits about. I was literally sitting there pointing and saying "...And this guy is going to die, and this one is going to be the pussy of the lot..." without feeling any emotional draw to them. I hate to tell you this, but when you smother a plot in unnecessary gore and cheese, you kill it. It jumped around and was hard to follow most of the time, and most of the characters were little obedient sheep. At this point I had given up on any kind of savings grace.
Then they introduced zabie (zombie-baby) and I burst into hysterical laughter for the entire scene. This was something that I had so desperately wanted to see in a zombie movie or game for so long, but no one had taken the plunge, and now I know why. It looked like the poorly animated spawn of Satan and a Weeping Angel.
I'm giving the show one more episode to impress me, but I highly doubt that the poorly written, illegitimate spawn of The Walking Dead and World War Z will amount to much, other than to amuse me with inaccuracies and bad CGI.
