Armory Series: Wanderer’s Vestments

(Hey folks, this is a series of informative posts I plan to make concerning my character Zac Evans and the tools he uses, weapons and armors he wields, as well as Disciplines he’s studied. Today we’ll be looking at his basic DPS armor, the Wanderer’s Vestments)

The Wanderer’s Vestments are plain, if padded, cloth pieces reinforced with leather in key areas to better protect Zac as he fights, being a good ‘universal’ set to handle the requirements of the various martial disciplines he’s taken to studying. The most noteworthy thing of this armor set at first glance is the thick soles of the leggings, well suited to entire days and nights spent on the road, as those who are called Oschon’s Own are wont to do.

The components are varied, and often replaced with what materials can be found in the region Zac is currently in when repairs are needed, yet always made to the same specifications. While cotton is a preferred material for its comfort, alongside durable steel for buckles and auroch leather for defense, should coin be scarce he is just as likely to remake the shirt or leggings with hemp, or burlap as well as settle for lesser iron and toadskin for armor components.

Unlike his weapons, which are often swapped out due to spiritbonding and Zac’s unnatural method of drawing aether from himself for combat, the Wanderer’s Vestments are replaced gradually over time. This has led to his personal aetheric element bleeding into this particular set of armor, granting it superb defenses against Wind, while falling well short of protective against Ice.
