I had a blast designing them, with their shapes and everything. They truly are a sight to behold. Most likely will make up a whole new category for ones like them.

I did this like... a year or two ago but forgot to ever upload it to Tumblr apparently because I’m a ninny? Life is wild. I DID A ZAGRAS CLOTHING BREAKDOWN. The feather skirt is also interchanged for shorts, as seen in the toonboom model too.

I work in an animation studio, and people often give each other sticky note doodles to put on their monitors--and recently that amped up into a “tiefling war” between some people. For some reason this very tiny format just really spoke to my brain and I’ve been getting weirdly elaborate with my tiny sticky note illustrations?? Let me tell you, that paper is not meant to hold so much ink--but it’s been really fun anyway. This fear of perfection goes away in a 3x3 format.

8 Things About: Zagras

A couple days ago I asked over on my personal blog (Veeisms.tumblr) what characters of mine people would like to know more about. And since I made art for it, I decided to post the response here instead! Information under the cut.

Zagras is very short--a mere 4'10", combined with being rather emanciated, giving her about the weight of the average peanut.

I've often described her as "the embodiment of a rainy day." Her skin is a sickly grey,  she's prematurely grey-haired, and her own threadbare dress has long since stopped being black. In spite of what her appearance says about her however, she's at her happiest with flowers. She has a surprisingly effective green thumb and can make any patch of land into a beautiful array of flowers and herbs.

No matter what setting I play her in, she's usually somewhat of an indentured servant who scrubs the floors and assists in the morgue, because it's the easiest way to keep the flora-obsessed demon quiet and morose.

She has an indomitable stutter. Whether it's an actual problem or caused by the situations she finds herself in, is anyone's guess.

She has a secret love of romance books that she keeps hidden in the bottom of her flower baskets, in the cupboards behind the cleaning supplies, or under her mattress. She's that girl who fantasizes about being the princess in the tower rescued by the prince. Or to be smiled at by any nice boy. She'd take either. (On that note, she is, as far as she is aware, straight, though doesn't really find that it matters because who would even look at her, really?)

It's fair to say Zagras isn't aware of what a bath is, because even a rat would not nest in her greasy hair.

Her only "friend" is a small rat skull named Bob. She keeps him in her pocket and chats at him often. Bob does not respond. She doesn't mind.

Zagras has somehow convinced herself that because she can grow the plants well, that she is somehow a pro at medicinal plants and how to use them. This is not the case. Don't let her near any rash, acne, headache, heartache, or bleeding orifice you have. She'll probably rub poison ivy, mint, and goat manure on it and insist it'll work.

Zagras is a character I always like to keep open ended. I try to give people a chance to help or interact with her in positive ways, and thus far in the many years I've played her, most people have been content to leave the starving teenager alone in her delusions and near-slavery and go about their business of saving the pretty characters instead.

Now I miss playing her. BUUUUH.
