It had been a difficult shift. Honestly, Zahir felt like the last few shifts had been difficult, but he couldn't complain. He loved his job. There was something about saving a life, doing what the majority of the population simply couldn't, that made him feel alive. It wasn't a superiority complex -- not really -- but Zahir was sure that some would say otherwise.
He pulled at the hem of the crewneck and shifted the same duffel bag higher up on his shoulder. The procedure had taken five hours -- short in comparison to some of the others he'd completed -- but Zahir was ready to head home and fall into bed. As he passed by Siwan's office and noticed the door open, he couldn't help but glance in, a grin spreading across his face as he saw the other man sitting at his desk. "Another one in the books, boss. At this rate, you'll have to give me a plaque or something."
this just in! ZAHIR TURAN has just been spotted in town. Wait. You don’t know who HE is? the 35 year old SURGEON has been in town for, like, 35 YEARS. they’re known to be quite ARROGANT, but being PERSISTENT seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble ALP NAVRUZ. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those biting back a grin, readily available sarcastic quips, and the euphoria that comes from saving lives vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around avonlea gardens long enough!

Zahir had always been a determined sort of person. Limits and boundaries were not something that stopped him. If there was a limit, odds were Zahir would find some way to defy it.
This mindset was something that served him well throughout life. That, and the fact that Zahir genuinely believed himself to be a prodigy. He'd grown up in a household of doctors, and had always known that that would be his path in life. There was no question about it. The Turan name held weight in the medical world, and Zahir would simply have to continue that.
Medical school caused Zahir to question the things he'd believed about himself -- that he was special, that he was a prodigy, that he was born for this -- but as always, he made it through.
Shortly after his 32nd birthday, Zahir found himself engaged. She was a childhood friend, his best friend, if he was being honest, but while he was fond of her, Zahir couldn't say that he was in love with her. Theirs was little more than a business marriage, but at least he knew that they'd both be safe and comfortable within it.
That was until nearly two years later when Zahir cheated. It wasn't something that he set out to do. Marriage was a task like any other -- something that he was determined to excel in -- and yet, with one decision he'd failed. The two broke off their engagement mere months before they were intended to be married.
Zahir has fully thrown himself into his job. He works long hours (which isn't surprising considering his field) and is determined to keep himself away from personal relationships.

if he’s dating nova he should be taking her side. but i honestly don’t know why they hate each other, so we’ll have to see. anyone got any tips on this one?
