Souptober day 9: Gloom

For today I decided to design yet another creature. This is a Crowned Glümp, a flightless pterosaur so well adapted to life in the ground, it's the apex predator in its natural habitat. Its "antlers" (actually horns, derived from a crest) are used for intraspecific competition, only for showing and not actually fighting, since they don't usually grow back like real antlers.

It's October, which means I'm back from the dead! Starting off the uploads with day 1 of my friend @souptoon 's SoupTober daily art challenge! on day 1 I present to you:

A spec evo griffon! it's falling with style so that counts, right? Anyways, griffons are a species in a world I'm working on called Zanteria, which is also a D&D setting for a campaign I'm running. They belong to a group related to mammals, they have fur and are synapsids as well, obviously, and some of them developed flight, like the Griffons and Wyverns.

Souptober day 11 - Light(ning)

"They say lightning doesn't strike twice in the same spot, well, that doesn't apply if you're being chased by a very angry blue dragon." For this day I decided to draw my take on D&D's blue dragon, inspired by what @iguanodont did with the original dragon designs, I also decided to give them my own twist. This one's inspired by dinosaurs, mainly by sauropods because of Brontosaurus, the Tunder Lizard. Blue dragons don't have wings, instead swimming through the air kinda like Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Souptober day 10: Dark

For this day I decided to draw a giant predatory bat, inhabitant of huge cave systems in Zanteria called The Underdark.

Bats in Zanteria didn't have much luck in the surface, with all the flying things up there (birds, wyverns and pterosaurs), so instead evolved in the dark deep caves, developing echolocation in the process and dominating where surface dwellers could not.

Souptober day 25 - Wandering

This was meant for yesterday but I got the prompts mixed up lol Anyways, here's a fungal Hilerbing riding an axebeak. Fungal hilerbin are a subspecies of hilerbin that instead of having plant-like atributes they have fungus-like traits. They're also a bit taller and stockier than herbal hilerbin.

I've been taking a break from drawing since the october daily art challenge left me a bit drained of creative juices, so have this I made earlier that month

An emoji of an Owlbear, holding a heart-shaped magic root, from which healing potions are made.

Owlbears in Zanteria share a common ancestor with Griffons, but they didn't really developed flight, unlike their cousins.

Souptober day 23 - Sky

A nephilim, a race of people from Zanteria, they're descendants from celestials that came into the mortal realm, becoming mortals themselves.

Despite not being full on celestials anymore, their ancestry and kept connection to the upper planes is seen in their crystalline wings, too weak to fly anymore but still powerful enough to slow their descent.

Souptober day 6 - Needle

Some more Zanteria spec evo, this time I present to you the Common Stirge, a modern day pterosaur with a vampiric lifestyle. With a wingspan of aroung 30 cm (one feet), they cling unto unsuspecting victims at night, and use their saliva with special anesthesics to then pierce their skin without problem, sucking some blood and then flying off into the night again. They usually nest in superficial caves, away from the Underdark where echolocating bats reign supreme. Stirges are usually found in medium to large groups and are very protective of their territories, pecking intruders with their strong beaks until they decide to go away.
