I love RTD-era DW where the deeper into the show you get, the more alien encounters the plot has to acknowledge. Like newscasters in season 4 will be like “we aren’t sure about the existence of extra-terrestrials, but we do urge our viewers to recall when the ghosts of our loved ones turned into robots, and when the titanic almost killed the Queen, and when an alien spaceship appeared on Christmas the first time, and then the second time-“
