The three Oracle cards I drew for you are Zebra Stone, Citrine, and Rutilated Quartz.

I finally wrote some stuff for my Houseki No Kuni gem ocs !!!! I’ve had these in mind for awhile and I’m happy to finally get a lot of good concrete ideas down.

Within the ocean, far out from the island on which the rest of the gems reside, is a group of gems that have been living in the farthest reaches of the sea for several hundred years. They were driven to fleeing from the main group of gems as a result of frustration and despair over the unending loss of gems by causality of lunarian abductions. Hell bent on being as defiant to their prior life as possible, they take full advantage of their body type- that is to say, they take pieces of themselves (or often other gems) and carve them into various adornments and body modifications. They also do not wear powder, for the fact that they can't find it in the ocean, and the water would eventually wash it off anyways.
They are lead by Black Star Diopside, who is more casually referred to as Black Star. They were the one the propose the idea of running away into the ocean after their partner, Opal, was shattered and mostly taken to the moon, only leaving behind a small scattering of body parts. Their remains were turned into two giant, pointed horns that Black Star attached to their head. Black Star additionally made many small spikes, which run down their neck, back, and arms, as well as short claws on the end of Black Star's fingers. Black Star additionally carved off their feet, leaving their legs ending in long, sharp points.
The ocean gems treat the modification of their bodies as a very important art form. Gems modifying their bodies is considered honorable. Additionally, gems sometimes swap chunks of themselves with someone else. That is considered the ultimate form of trust and love between gems, whether that love be parental, sibling-like, platonic, or romantic. They swap memories and emotions with one another, something considered very precious to... anyone, really. As a result, the ocean gems are masters of being able to locate where specific memories are stored in the body. Generally, the closer to the 'center' of the body (the solar plexus), the more important the memories are. For example, if gems swap fingers, they'll likely get an inconsequential memory, such as when they saw a particularly large butterfly floating about. However, if gems were to swap a chunk of themselves from their chest, the chunk might contain the memory of a time that they witnessed their partner being abducted to the moon. It is very rare for gems to swap parts of themselves from the very center of their chest due to the importance of the memories stored within.
Only one gem has ever found their way to the location of the ocean gems due to the geography of their location. The ocean gems live on an oceanic plateau, one surrounded by very deep water, where very little light reaches. Thus, the journey is extremely exhausting and typically not worth it, due to the fact that gems require light for energy.
The single gem that has wandered to the oceanic plateau is Geode. Due to the way that Geode is, they were covered in a rough outer layer of hard rock when they were born, which was chipped off by Kongo, leaving them a lot smaller than most of the other gems. They are hollow on the inside, with crystals growing inwards in their body, leaving them more vulnerable to being broken despite the hardness level of the various gems within their composition. Their outside- underneath the powder, that is- is banded, with a variety of colors. They are quite hard to piece back together due to the nature of their body. They are comprised of agate and quartz with small traces of opal. They tend to isolate themself as a result of feeling quite self conscious and weird. They are roughly 50 years old, and their partner was formally Pearl. Pearl treated Geode as a younger sibling, and took a great interest in them from the moment they were born. They helped Kongo teach Geode, and as soon as Geode was old enough to go on patrol, Pearl had already gotten approval to be their partner. Pearl is also quite brittle, but the two had a special job- they regularly went into the ocean, and gathered materials that could potentially be useful for the rest of the gems, or at least be investigated out of pure curiosity.
Pearl and Geode took large measures of care to avoid sunspots, due to their lack of abilities to fight. However, they ended up being caught in an usual sunspot appearance when Geode was roughly 60 years old. Pearl took an arrow for Geode, and was shattered on impact. They were a ways away from the school, and the gems did not arrive in time, and Geode was only able to escape as a result of the lunarians being preoccupied with gathering the remains of Pearl. Geode was very upset that the gems did not arrive in time, and this anger and frustration only increased when Kongo found them another partner a few days later. Geode felt as though they all simply chose to forget Pearl. Geode wasn't alive long enough thus far to witness another gem being abducted, and had yet to grown emotionally numb to it, as the other gems all seem to have gotten some form of as a result of experiencing it so many times. In their despair, they fled into the ocean, the only place they felt calm. The waves were quite strong that night, and they found themselves being quickly whisked away into the deep.
Helpless to the waves, and within the depths of the sea, Geode soon found themselves passing out, only to later reawaken under the curious gaze of a gem known as Zebra Stone (or simply Zeb), still in the ocean, their powder washed off. Their body had been shattered apart in a few places as a result of the sea throwing them against the edge of the plateau. Geode was gathered and brought to the rest of the gems of the ocean colony. While initially unsettled with the extremely unusual appearance of these gems, Geode quickly grew to feel a camaraderie between themselves and these gems over their mutual strange appearances. Black Star took an extreme liking to Geode from the start, noticing that they were partially comprised of opal. (It wasn't their partner opal, but it left Black Star feeling nostalgic. They even considered the possibility of reincarnation for awhile.)
I have visuals in mind for these gems, hopefully I'll draw them..... eventually :")

back when euchroite was still around, zebra stone and kona dolomite attempted fusion (right after kona arrived in digilitis), thus forming petrified wood
they split up like some seconds after they fused, and realized that they liked their own forms and abilities and personalities so much they wouldn’t want to “loose” that by permafusing
