pspsps– tell me your reasoning for the lords in black casting. i am looking at you with my big ol’ eyes.
CLAPS HANDS TOGETHER OKAY SO. referring to this post:
There's only one god that it makes sense to cast as the kind-of-leader of the Lords in Black when this is an Avid-centric au, and that's of course Olm. Like Wiggly, they are ambitious, conniving, prone to wanton cruelty, and are quite known to have possessed people to work for them in the past. They come the closest to escaping their prison when they have agents doing work for them, of course (Vintage as Wiley and Ruby as MacNamera would go hard is all I'm saying).
However, from what we have gathered, Wiggly is not the one that usually succeeds in taking over the world the most; that'd be Pokey. And when it comes to entities that are quite big fans of hiveminds, have a flair for the dramatic, and are surprisingly heavily associated with blue gunk and meteors... well, Decem really work here. Thanks for messing around with sculk so often, Scientist.
Martyn's Watchers as Blinky was unfortunately a bit of a no-brainer, as much as we are usually inclined to dislike Eyes&Ears AU stuff. Purple. Eyes motif. Likes when people put on a good show where murder happens and nobody gets a happy ending. I think if we were going to cast any entity at all as Blinky it'd be Decem's Philosopher -- Blinky's human form is startlingly similar to how we headcanon their own human form looking, with long bright hair and a purple hoodie -- but Decem have to share one entity. We will not be showing the Philosopher preferential treatment today, and that means we bring in the Watchers.
Xornoth as Nibbly was a bit of an outside stretch of a pull, but we wanted some Empires rep in here and they're both pink with a love for sacrifices and wanton violence. Not much else to say.
If you thought Xornoth was a stretch, though, Tinky is very much a case of us not having many other go-tos. The Red Sun is about three steps removed from Vampires SMP and only loosely applicable to Shelby, but the "tinkerer" archetype and an obsession with tormenting One Specific Person in a forever hellscape timeloop does admittedly fit the description -- even though that person is very much not in the Vampires cast.
