Pink Haired Girl Link: Fantasy

This is Link from that one time they accidentally thought Zelda 1 Link (Hyrule) was a Girl! :D

We nicknamed the Hero of Hyrule "Hyrule" This is TECHNICALLY The same Link, so we call her "Fantasy".

Both are inspired by my favorite piece of concept art, it's kinda funny seeing him with such a serious face carrying all that stuff loll

Sketch:

First for the sketch I didn't wanna do anything complicated, just showing off the design. I've kept as close as I can to the concept art but ive given both of them items to carry inspired by my favorite concept art of og link.

Line:

Line art isn't anything special just paying attention to line weight and outlining the bigger shapes for readability

Flats:

The flat colours were first taken from the concept art, then edited, then blended w the original colours- I was just playing around til I found the colour I liked. The background is just a simple splash of colour, blue being adjacent to green and yellow.

Rendered:

I can't lie I did get a bit confused while shading this one because I was trying to figure out this new style I wanted to do. There's a layer of soft shadow using an airbrush then a layer of cel shading. I think I overdid the softer shadows with this, I should've done more with the cel shading but the piece doesn't look bad it's just not the outcome I was going for.

I still like this piece I think I captured the ages well and the attitudes Link has at different ages. Younger Link clutches to his sword more with a determination to survive Hyrule where older Link has his guard lowered more cuz he's used to the land by now.

Oh thank you! I love talking about Fae so here we go

Two words, fairy magnet

Their internal compass is literally insane

They're a wanderer, but they know better than to wander at night. They usually stay in caves overnight (and never stay at towns)

They're getting over the "everyone wants to kill me" trust issues, very slowly. Some of the other Links they don't trust though, so it takes them a while to stop sleeping with one eye open.

They keep a bandage over their left hand and no one knows why. Some of the Links are fairly certain they can sense some magic under that hand, but no one knows what exactly it is.

I think there's some prophecy about AoL Link becoming king?? So Fae is absolutely avoiding that, they aren't a ruler of a kingdom, they're a 17 year old who's shit at cooking and refuses to use a map

Also because I've been holding onto these for a while, here's a few sketches of Fae!

I'm still testing out their colors and stuff
