Just Cause (Dazai x Reader)

You saw him from a mile away, sitting on the park bench just existing in his most beautiful form

Fluffy hair ruffled from the wind and legs crossed as he watched silently. Watched people walking by, the setting sun casting a beautiful orange glow on the trees, a dog pooping in the corner, his public enemy.

It was simply picture perfect.

You both agreed to meet up after work, Dazai insisting to pick you up but with a lot of persuasion you finally got him to meet you here

Mostly because you wanted to surprise him and you needed time to pick up said surprise 

Osamu could guess something was up and whilst every cell in his body was dying to find out, he decided to exercise some self control and trust you.

You were always up to the most random side quests as you called them. 

He saw you from his peripheral, tilting his head towards you and waving like an overexcited kid.

What a dork!

"You're so sly" he said sarcastically, watching you approach with your hands behind your back, clearly hiding something behind your back

"If that's a stray, we are not keeping it" he said, lips betraying him as he smiled wider as you got closer

"It's not, and if it were, we would so be keeping it"

"So not!"

So will!"

"Maybe if you gave me a hundred kisses"

"I'd do that anyway." You leaned in and pecked the tip of his nose, "Close your eyes, I have a surprise"

Osamu smiled, closing his eyes and doing little to hide the fact that he was peaking

"No peaking" 

"Kiss me and I won't"

Rolling your eyes, you leaned in and kissed him softly, pulling away before he got handsy because you knew him and he would get handsy quick

"Ready?" 

"Mm" 

You held up the bouquet of flowers in front of him, "You may look now, my love"

Osamu opened his eyes, smiling whilst his brows slowly furrowed with confusion, "...flowers?"

"Yes, astute observation" you tease softly

"Did I forget something?" the frown on his face deepens

"No, these are for you"

"For me?"

"Yes"

He paused, lips pulling into a straight line and eyes inspecting the bouquet in your hands, "Why?"

"Why not?"

"But why?" he presses

"I wanted to because I love you and all that jazz"

"You got me flowers" he stated, leaning down to smell them, his actions still hesitant 

"Take them" 

"I-?" He took the bouquet from you, fingers gently running over the petals, "I still don't understand the reason for this"

"Just cause? Just wanted to? Can't I be spontaneous?"

"I love when you're spontaneous, Bella. I just didn't expect this"

"Well, I love you so sue me"

He smiles softly, "I love you too"

Later that night when you both have gone home and were getting ready for bed, you found Osamu sitting by the dining table, staring at the flowers, fingers gliding over the soft petals as he trimmed the stem and put them in the vase, "I still can't believe you got me flowers just cause" 

Smiling you walked over and kissed him

"What was that for? Not that I’m complaining"

"Just cause"

Due to his condition, I don't imagine Ominis could play "active boy games" much. So instead he would sit quietly with Noctua and help her with little tasks, something he feels he can do on his own.

Hi guys okay I’ve been rewatching atla again (I love atla btw, I’ve been into it since I was in 4th grade and it was my very first hyperfixation LOL) and I’ve realized that nobody ever actually brings up Lu Ten haunting the narrative

Literally almost all of the problems that are shown in atla (past the war overall) are caused by Lu Tens death and that means so much to me

Without Lu Ten dying, Iroh never would’ve left ba sing se and would’ve won the war with bs sing se and effectively took it over, and if he took over ba sing se he would’ve never been doubted by ozai (ignoring ozai’s own jealousy that causes his doubt….) and that never would’ve been brought up to azulon, and therefore azulon would’ve kept iroh as his successor when he died and iroh would have been the fire lord, not ozai, which would prevent zuko’s exile and his scar, and probably would’ve prevented the search for the avatar overall.

Literally if Lu Ten lived then Aang would’ve never met Zuko and also wouldn’t have to defeat ozai and would have no true rush in learning all 4 elements.

Ofc idk how iroh would be as a ruler and im not a true powerscaler so I can’t say how the war would’ve proceeded (though it probably would be far closer to being over, since ba sing se is one of the biggest kingdoms and would give the fire nation an advantage if it had already been won over, as well as an incredible increase in manpower if they were able to recruit warriors from ba sing se, though that is unlikely just… given the way that earth benders are shown to be treated by the fire nation with ozai as a leader, && iroh isn’t shown to be much better than ozai before Lu Ten dies) but i think if Lu Ten was alive then Iroh and the Fire Nation as a whole would have a much better rule (and zuko would have a better childhood tbh.)

Anyway. Sorry for the whole essay I love Lu Ten and his death haunting the story and NEVER BEINF MENTIONED is so depressing to me.

Also this post of Lu ten is so real I adore him he looks so nice and looks like a sweetheart. Lu Ten my secret fav.
