Hello again, I just finished watching the Zepp Haneda show Dir en grey performed at on December 10th 2025. I had a lot of fun when I wrote down my reaction to the album Mortal Downer. So I figured I'll document my live reaction as I am watching this concert. I know I'm a little late on this. I get pretty busy/very distracted easily. Once again this is not a neat or professional review of this at all. Also this is gonna take a while to read all of this. Anyways, Enjoy:
There are frogs on this menu. Heh heh heh I feel so giddy right because not only is this my first Dir en grey concert to own on Blu Ray, but also because I'm having the same feelings as if I'm going to this concert. Behind the vacant image is a great song to start with in this concert. God I love this band so much. I sometimes forget how tame Japanese fans are compared to Western, Central and South America fans when it comes to any music artist.
I always like to check back on the audience occasionally because I'm curious if there's an equal amount of guys, gals, and thems. Because for many years Dir en grey would attract mainly girls. I'm sure it has changed when they started to have a "westernized" sound to their music. But even then, in my experience I would still see a little bit more girls at the shows I've gone to here in the United States. I've never been to their Japanese shows so I can't comment on that. Of course there's nothing wrong with it at all. Plus it doesn't really matter. I'm just being a curious creature like I always am. Toshiya doing that little twirl. Ah there's his little crate. Woah Jeffery Dahmer's on the screen? Ah I see a little bit of Bundy. Idk who this Japanese dude is (I assume he's Japanese). This old dude looks familiar
I used to know my serial killers pretty well. Looks like I better get back to researching them. Maybe I'll ask @yridenergyridenergy to see if they know who these people are that were on the screen. God I need to see these guys again. I miss them. Although I have a feeling they're not gonna come back to the United States anytime soon. Or for years. Or maybe never again 💔 There we go. I have a better view of the band now. You know, I think I remember liking this song. I think they played this when I last saw them back in 2019. (Unfortunately as I'm typing this, I do not remember what the name of the song is while watching this🤦🏻♂️) This is so cool. I love it when Kyo does this kind of shit. I forgot he'd do this in concerts. (Is it called Inward Screams? I can't remember. Let me know if it's correct or if it's called something else) So when they started playing Kuukoku no Kyouon. My guess as to what this song is was embarrassingly off by a mile 🙈 Man I don't know the the last time they played this live. I love how much of a freak of nature Kyo is. Thatta boy. Look at them heels. Does anyone know why there is a rug under his crate? Break time! I'm feeling hungry. I wonder what I should eat. It's a tie between vegan ramen or vegan mac and cheese. Fuck it I'll have some vegan mac and cheese. Even though I just had some last night. Huh, I just noticed the Chao Creamy Original and the Violife Mature Cheddar slices looks and smells the same 🤔 Anyway back to the show. I love it when Toshiya does backing vocals. Ooooo that bass sounds so sexy. I am now full of vegan cheese. I seem to be having a hard time trying to keep my eyes open. I wonder if it's because of me playing around with the eyeliner I wanted to try on earlier. I was attempting to try to do Daron Malakian 's look, from System of a Down, in the early 2000's. I don't think I was successful at it 🙈 The eyeliner feels so heavy on my eyes. I am not used to wearing eyeliner. The only time I'd ever put it on is if it's Halloween or the rare occasion that I cosplay. Anyway it's either that or the fact that it's 3:30 in the morning. I like to think it is the above. Aw leaving already? Just kidding 🙈 I know these fuckers are gonna come back out anyway. Everyone knows that the silent rule is if fans want an encore, you get your asses back out on stage.
Kyo's growls are so fucking cool holy shit. God I love his stage antics. It is a work of art. Now that I think about it, he's reminding of that Grudge bitch. Aw shit I accidentally pressed a button on the other remote and it left my 4k player. I hope I'm not missing anything. Crisis has been averted. Aw I wanna sing along with audience there in person. Next time if I see them (if I'm ever gonna see them again), I want to be on Kaoru and Toshiya's side. Mainly because Toshiya was Alex's (@itsmelonk-blog) favorite band member. The last time I saw them in 2019, I was sort of in the middle and a little far back. Which is very unusual for me because I always like being at the front. Whether it's Die's side or Toshiya and Kaoru's side. Kyo's spot is a danger zone. Lol Kyo here sounds like the singer from Puddle of Mudd whenever he attempted to cover Nirvana's song Like a Girl 😂 Here's The Devil in Me. I wonder if I will see John Wayne Gacy being shown on screen at some point during this performance. There goes Kyo hanging himself again. I wish I can make the new version of that famous gif of Dir en grey that has over 200,000 notes. But have it be from this show. Most of y'all probably know what I am talking about. Fun fact: when I was digging through this person's blog that uploaded it, not only was that gif stolen. But the tags had #dj #party #people and #music. That's absolutely hilarious with just how wrong this person was. At the same time, I wonder if those tags actually helped make that gif become so famous lol Oh, here comes the name of John Wayne Gacy. But not a photo of him in sight. It's funny that I'm just now noticing this, but what bass is Toshiya playing on? It looks pretty cool.
I'm getting sleepy despite the fact that Kyo is screaming in my ears. Lol at Toshiya kicking that mic stand like he's attempting to do a Michael Jackson dance move. I know I keep talking about Toshiya this whole time, but for some reason he is sticking out the most besides Kyo. Ooooo they're playing T.D.F.F! Also that was a quick wardrobe change for most of these guys. Yeah Toshiya! Beat that bass! Show it who's boss! AAAAAH OMG THEY'RE PLAYING GYAKUJOU TANNOU KELOID MILK!!!
It's Kyo's turn to do the twirl now. Did I just see Israel on the screen just now? Hmmm I wish there was a way I can watch all of what's shown on screen separately. I want to analyze what's being displayed here this entire time. OMG this is giving me so much nostalgia! (Fukai) AAAAAAAAAH!!! That gave me a wake up call. Oooo is Kaoru wearing Doc Marten's? Aaaaah Hageshisa. A certified hood classic. I think this was the first song they played when I saw them for the first time back in 2011. This is such a random memory, but I remember when I was a freshman in high school there was this girl that was asking who Dir en grey was. I had a photo of them on my binder, among other things. Either she saw that or I was wearing a Dir en grey shirt. Anyway she asked me if they were a German band lol Hell to the yes. Now this is how you end a show. Lmao at Kaoru treating his guitar like it's a shotgun. I had to pause to see what Toshiya's bass said. It says "Wake Up! Mother Fucker" Amen to that. Here's Die cumming all over the audience. Gah, believe me guys I want an encore too. I would be shocked if they came back out to do another song Oh shit they're actually coming back out!? The fuck That's so unfair Lucky bastards Of course Japanese fans get all of the good shit. Aw yeah here's Vinushka. Another certified hood classic. Ok how the hell did my sock get upside down? You know, like where it's almost at the tip with that line thingy that's annoying as hell whenever it's at the bottom of your foot. Anyways moving on. How did I not notice Kyo has a septum piercing? This is arguably one of the best songs they've ever made. I have a random comment. This is something I thought about for a while, but Shinya seems to be an underrated drummer. He's really good at it. Which is kind of funny because if anyone looks at him, they wouldn't think that he's an absolute beast when he plays on the drums.
Here are the credits. I like seeing all of the credits to the people that helped make this concert happen. They should definitely be appreciated more. Not many people think about them. Without them, we wouldn't have such a great concert between us fans and the band themselves. Goodnight everyone.
