There isn't a lone MC in the Illthdar series. It's a large main cast, at that. The closest you get is Zercey as she's the character that tends to speak for the reader. To answer this, I'll stick to the opinions of Zercey's teammates.

Zercey is the youngest and most of the cast, while they respect and value her as a person, they fit her into the baby sister role - there are actual occasions where Vyxen and Nyima refer to her as such, either aloud or internally.

Zercey is a bundle of insecurities and stress. She doesn't particularly hide her feelings well, either. Scyanatha loves her because she is one of those people that just about anyone can relate to, though she wishes Zercey would have a bit more confidence - she finds the weakness of Zercey to be tiresome after awhile.

Magnilla thinks Zercey - actually, most people - are weak and just generally in need of saving. She's absolutely positive no human, part Fae or not, is capable of looking after themselves.

Abaddon thinks she's lovable. They genuinely like Zercey because she is intelligent and full of passion.
