so the pain is certainly familiar as she takes those first few hop hop hops on her right leg before making it to the corner of the rooftop’s mechanical penthouse, and the string of obscenities that follow --------- aimed at the roof, her busted boot, herself --------- isn’t new either.

the arm around her shoulder is new, as is the face looking back at her with CONCERN after her latest blue streak -------- the realization she’s not alone reels her back into something a little more professional. “ankle and i disagreed on which way we were going,” she explains with a grimace, knowing enough not to try and put weight on it just yet while silently accepting the offered arm. “unfortunately, it won the argument this time around. i can walk though. it’s fine. i’ll have the medics look at it downstairs, they’ll give me some ice ” ----

she makes it all of two hops ( one - and - a - half is more like it, but she’ll call it two ) before sharon feels the nudge against the back of her knee ------------ a gentle precursor to both feet leaving the ground before the rest of her joins them. “if THIS is supposed to encourage me not to jump from rooftop to rooftop it’s not exactly working.”
