Pieces of a puzzle || zetsubxu

Koutarou was one of those who rarely desired much from life anymore. He was now used of being alone, years of having a steady life with a companion by his side now changed to a life of a bachelor, but at least now he could follow his dream.

He knew that at the end of the month he would stay awake one night and calculate his profits and losses, the payments and winnings, but so far he was above the red line. It meant lonely evenings, no time for real nor social life for himself, his interactions with people staying only inside his little coffee shop. But he liked it that way. Just like the name of his cafe, Second Hand shop, the brown haired man felt he was used goods.

It did not diminish his spirits thought. The few frequent customers, the grumpy social worker, the curious and flirty reporter and even the quiet librarian, that visited the shop almost daily were now some Koutaro could call friends. It made the man smile. At least he had someone he could talk freely with, all these men were like him, having pasts that weren’t all dancing on the roses.

But he did yearn for companionship again. He could dream of having someone by his side, but truth to be tomd he was scarred beyond belief. His divorce still fresh in his mind the bispecled man was giving up.

Taking his usual routine after having woken up, small breakfast and shower, then dressing up and walking downstairs to the shop gave him someform of security.

The shop needed to be open in few hours and fortunately he had done his chores after a tiring day before Koutaro was ready to finish the last few cakes for the display before he would open the shop again.

The day looked like to be a bright one, it was certain he would have at least few customers that day and he could earn his ends meal.
