Coloring Branches
I went a different direction with picking which color for the tutorial, I went with grey, aqua-blue and what some have called 'new Branch' color.
I'm doing this from my phone so I'll have to do a reblog or 2 to get it all.
For the main one I did a Duality of Branch pic, cuz half folks wanted to see grey, and half wanted aqua based on a poll I posted, and honestly I wanted to.
1. Shadows. For the happy side(HS) I used a medium aqua color. For the grey side(GS) I used a blue-grey color.
2. Main color. HS is I did light blue. GS I used a cool light gray color. I also used a light purple for both sides, but I forgot I normally would've shadowed the GS nose with blue-grey. I'll have to add it later.
3. Blending the nose, for HS I went over the purple with light blue, for GS used the the purple and blue-grey to get it to the color I wanted.
4. This is a unique step I'm aware, but lately for blush I add splotches of pigment in desired areas then blend with a water brush pen. Before that though I would use colored pencils.
5. Blended the blush and added eye color. Medium blue and light blue for HS, Light blue and light grey for GS.
6. Hair lowlights. HS a rich blue and and medium blue. GS black.
7. Hair highlights. HS and GS I use light blue with light purple for the tips cuz.. fun
8. Honestly, for the clothes I used light and dark greens for the appropriate sides and patches.
9. Same with the brown parts of his clothes and mug.
10. Highlights I used mainly white prismacolor pencil and some gel pen.
Coloring Poppy!
Next, I used a teal green to color the headband and some medium and light grey markers for depth in the eyes but there's a pic when it so I couldn't add it 😢
My pastel marker arsenal for coloring most of Hue one of my new OCs.
Oh yeah you guys don’t know much about Hue or Nyx on here, well except for( @sunshineafter @lantherien @madamphoenixdiamond and @tealbull81 , who have each been a part of my spitballing idea process and decision-making with this new color variant of trolls, thanks guys 😘), well they’re part of a new troll color variant I’m working on Opal trolls. I’ll post more on that later when they’re finished though.
Yep, I love this water brush pen thingy, my new favorite way to do blush
