Mettler Family 2014 Epicenter ‘Old Vine’ Zinfandel (SRP $25): This Zinfandel is intense, well-rounded, has a big personality—turning it up to eleven (if you know what I mean). Aromas of toasted spice, sweet oak tones, and smoked meat frame blackberry preserve, purple stone fruit, and brown baking spices. The tannins beg for red meat grilled over hot coals. I personally wish I had an order of burnt-ends as I wrap up this note.
