1867 - 1st Dental school established - Harvard School of Dental Medicine

1917 - Royal Proclamation by King George V changes name of British Royal Family from German Saxe-Coberg-Gotha to Windsor

1918 - The Romanov Royal Family and several retainers are executed by a Bolshevik firing squad in Yekatarinaburg, Siberia

1945 - Potsdam Conference - Harry Truman, Josef Stalin, and Winston Churchill hold 1st post WWII meeting

1959 - Paleoanthropologist Mary Leakey discovers partial skull of a new human ancestor - Zinjanthropus Boisei, or “Zinj”; lived in Africa almost 2 million years ago (pictured)

2018 - Oldest evidence of bread, made from wild grains, discovered in 14,000 year old dig in Jordan

Deep in the jungle lost to time

Explores search, looking for remnants of history; a world long since forgotten

A crew lead by their captain set sail

Follow the bread crumbs, the destination is near

Land on hollow ground, a sight not seen for a milinlion

A lost silver laden city, with buildings out stretched to the sky

Soaring stone arches, wide streets leading to the rivers edge; seeming to once be pathed in gold

Time spent there took it's toll

What was lost may not have wanted to be found

Plagued with hardships, hindered by dangerous animals and deadly disease

All that will come from such endeavors is the traveler becoming lost too...

Once found, it's secrets must remain as such

Search til you've reached your goal, you've obtained your life's work

Now history will obtain your life as payment in return...

Mary Leakey was a British paleoanthropologist who discovered the first Proconsul skull (BH-023) AND the first Zinjanthropus, now called Paranthropus boisei, skull (OH-5) AND the Laetoli footprints. By the time she retired to Nairobi, she had discovered 15 new animal species and one new genus 🦴💀 -- me, July 2021
