what one make-up item can you not live without? :D?
EYELINER. There is just something about eyeliner that makes the hurdles in life seem smaller, you know?

8! :D
Talk about the thing you are most proud of.
ooooh, start with the tough ones! ;)
I think I’m probably most proud of the work I’ve put into being someone who can be proud of herself at all. I spent a lot of years hating so many things about me, and waiting for someone to come along and counter all those messages, and finally I realized that the only person who could do that was ME and I’d better get the fuck to it. and the last five years I’ve worked hard to learn how to be self-caring and self-loving and worry less about what people around me think of my body and my passions and my choices. It’s a work in progress, but I’m SO MUCH HAPPIER that I don’t even know how to draw comparisons, and I did that. I did that.
it feels pretty amazing
OMG! please do the teenage dad Harry/ Grimmy still being DJ fic!!!
Well, I just checked our google doc, and it's over 20k long, so maybe? Hopefully. I love that verse.
ziusik replied to your post “If you had to choose, what are your top ten favourite books of all time? :) xxx”
AT SWIM FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (I'm the crazy who, at some point, managed to memorize it, I love it SO MUCH.)
I have a terrible memory, a TERRIBLE memory, I can barely remember the one line of poetry I have tattooed on my arm, and I have to look up the other lines I love so much when I hear them, but immediately forget how they go after ten seconds, so I am completely in awe of anyone who can memorise anything longer. IN AWE. PS ILU.

9, 10, 12! :D
Btw, these are all going to be about Nick/Harry, because they’re my most recent fics, and the newest are always my favourite babies :)
9. Favorite character to write?
Niiiiiiiiick. There’s a distance and irony and self-awareness you can write with him that you can’t write for Harry, who is so much more earnest. I also think he’s my favourite in all my fandoms because he’s the most like me: he’s British, he’s real, he’s an adult and he lives now (as opposed to hobbits, say, or wizarding children, or cartoon Japanese tennis-players :/ )
10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you’ve written
See here.
12. What WIPs do you have going now? Are you excited about them?
Urk. I don’t even want to call them WIPs because they’re just things I’m noodling with at the mo, and none of them may come to anything. Most recently I was writing a prequel to the Wedding ficlet thing - Nick and Harry gettin’ married first thing down the registry office with Gemma and Jane as their witnesses. I got stuck trying to write their vows. It felt like the most intimate, core thing I’ve ever written about them.
I’ve also been writing little off-shoots of Englishman…, one from Nick’s pov, after he gets back to London. It expands on his break-up with his bf and how he decides to go back to NY.
And another one, a sequel from Harry’s pov, about them going back to visit UK and that involves families and Harry’s feelings and some moony baby-staring from both of them. I think it’s basically too happy for me to write - there’s no drama for me to latch on to, no grain of sand in the oyster.
They’re my main writing doodles at the moment. I’m intermittently excited about all of them, but none of them are really grabbing me and shaking me. I think I’m having a fallow time after 18 months of continuous fic-writing.
ok, so like, everyone (all three of you) asked for number 10 in the writing meme thinger. is everyone fascinated by my opinion of my own dialogue? or was it just a wrinkle in time-space that meant that's where your pins went when you all chose your questions? WHO KNOWS. HERE IS YOUR ANSWER.
10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you've written
This, from An Englishman in New York:
They stand up, Harry leaning against the partition, Nick holding onto a handrail above his head, looming over Harry slightly.
‘Do you get pissed off sometimes?’ he says in an undertone.
‘About what?’
‘No-one recognising you.’
Harry lets out a chuff of laughter. ‘Yeah, sometimes. But then I remember what it was like. I remember that I can get on the train like a normal person, I can walk the streets. It’s nice being able to forget myself, be the person paying attention. What? Why are you smiling?’ Harry’s mouth twitches upwards to mirror Nick’s.
Nick shakes his head.
‘Just. You’re still so... Harry.’
I'm not completely sure why I like this so much. All I know is, during the writing of Englishman, I was reading through the last bit I'd written so I could get on with writing the next section (as you do), and when I came to this dialogue it was a) totally unexpected and b) totally right. When you write a lot and fast, you sometimes forget what you write, so it comes a surprise on a read-through, but this just came at me as something not even I had written. It was like reading something by someone else.
But when my beta picked it out as well, I knew it must be a bit special. Thinking about it, it's just very characteristic of them: thematically, it's about fame - something that is at the core of their relationship; Nick is taking the piss out of Harry, which is very Nick; and Harry is both earnest AND revelling in Nick's piss-taking, which is very Harry.
In other words, SHOCK NEWS: I LOVE NICK AND HARRY WAAAAAAAH.
NB: Everyone chose questions other than 10 as well, so individual replies coming up.
