can i get the most bonkers insane part from "weredad but longer"? because i feel like a story with that title can only be bonkers insane
rhsjsk this one is in early development stages so I don’t have a lot actually written but the idea is that in weredad adrien goes over to brunch to tell marinette he doesn’t love her but he chickens out. So now marinette and chat noir are still just awkwardly “dating” when neither of them wants to and they’re trying to plot how to politely break up with the other person without making things worse. except everyone at school thinks marichat are dating so adrien wants to wait a respectful amount of time so he doesn’t humiliate her in front of all her friends by dumping her after like 1 day lol. Anyway, marinette is annoyed, cliche fake dating developments happen, blah blah I’m sure that this has been done before but I am having fun with the idea lol. Here’s a snippet that would be early on in the fic:
He’s all awkward, like he’s never been in a girl’s room before. He sits politely on the edge of the chaise, knees together and hands tucked into his laps.
“You have a nice place. I like the pink.”
“Thanks.“
“Did you make these?” He gestures to her set of satin pillows.
“Yeah.”
“It’s, um. It’s cool that you make stuff. That’s very cool of you.”
Her eyes narrow. “Is everything okay? You don’t seem like yourself.”
He sighs, relaxes. “I’m sorry. I’ve never done this before.”
“Done what?”
He’s blushing. “Like. Dating.”
“Oh.” She blushes too. “Um, yeah. Me neither.”
“You haven’t?”
“Nope.”
Rubs the back of his neck. “I guess I don’t know how to … do this.”
“I don’t think you really need to do anything.”
“I don’t?”
“I mean—just be yourself and I think it’ll just be natural, you know?”
“Sure. Yeah, I guess.”
Marinette could’ve kicked herself. Why was she giving Chat Noir dating advice? Especially when he was technically dating her? She was supposed to break up with him the next time she saw him.
She’s gonna do it but he looks so shy and sweet and genuinely kind of excited to be there that she just can’t say it. Not after he just admitted that this was his first relationship. If his first girlfriend broke up with him after one day, how would that ruin him?
