~Goddess of Joy and Peace
Nanna is the wife of Baldr and the couple produced a son, the god Forseti.
Baldr was incessantly tormented at night by phantoms which mimicked the shape of Nanna and caused him to fall into such an unhealthy condition that he could not even walk properly. The violent passion that soaked his heart brought him almost to the verge of collapse. He judged that victory had yielded him nothing if it had not given him Nanna as a prize.
After Baldr's death, Nanna dies of grief. Nanna is placed on Baldr's ship with his corpse and the two are set aflame and pushed out to sea.
In Hel, Baldr and Nanna are united again.
ZNT's 4th anniversary is this week, so for znt4a, I wanted to scrounge together something and celebrate! Honestly this song was so perfect for them, the process just flew by

Day 3: Lisa//leap
-
Lisa catches a glimpse of a pool from the corner of her eyes and her body moves on its own. She throws her bag at Yui and jumps in, cute outfit, socks and shoes, and all that before her friend can even protest.
The water is a shock of cool against the heavy summer sun, the cold freezing its way through layers of clothes, skin, muscles and bones. The world is bright blue against her retinas and the sunlight dances its way to the bottom of the pool. When she surfaces, Lisa's longer hair slaps her face, her nose fills with the smell of chlorine, and warm water spills down her ears and chin.
"Hey!" Yui calls out to her, and Lisa wades closer to her friend, a sheepish smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "You scared me crazy. What did you jump in for?"
Lisa doesn't even need to think of her answer: "Because it was hot."
-
Lisa picks up a pair of blue glasses and Yui groans behind her, so she turns to look at her friend, one eyebrow raised in question.
"I knew you'd pick the blue one," Yui says, and she doesn't even sound gleeful at her correct prediction, just exasperated.
Lisa frowns, on the defensive. "What's wrong with blue? It's a perfectly fine color."
Yui rolls her eyes, one hand on her hip and the other vaguely pointing at her. "Take a look at your outfit."
Lisa looks down: dark flats, white pants, a red camisole, and a dark blue clip in her hair. She doesn't get where Yui's coming from.
Her friend sighs. "I always see you dressed in red, white, and blue. I don't think I've even ever seen you go outside without wearing those. You need to wear something else!"
Lisa looks at her outfit again, eyes catching on her red-white-blue striped belt and matching anklet, then back at the pair of glasses in her hand. "I happen to like this combination," she says, softly rubbing the rim of the glasses, mind stuck on the memories of two boys.
"I know," Yui says softly. "I'm not saying you can't wear this anymore. Just that you should broaden your horizon. Try if for me, please?"
Lisa sighs and agrees, which is why the next day, she shows up in a pale yellow dress.
Yesterday's blue glasses perched on her nose.
-
Lisa isn't sure why this one video caught her attention out of the many hundreds recommended to her by youtube. Maybe it's the insomnia, maybe it's the exhaustion, maybe it's the burning of her eyes, or maybe it's the red-white-blue of the preview, a faint memory of two boys springing at the back of her mind.
She can barely read the name, letters twisted and curled in unfamiliar patterns. When she does click on the video, there are no comments, no description, nothing: just a loading symbol spinning round and round and round as Lisa fetches her earphones in the meantime.
The start of the song is slow, the piano crisp and clear in her ears. The singer's voice sounds sad, nostalgic, yet hopeful at the same time, and Lisa feels herself being transported to a time when things were so complicated yet so simple.
If she takes one earphone out and closes her eyes, she can picture Nine standing on her left, fingers closed around his phone. She can see Twelve rolling the ball between his feet, his shuffling silent in order to not disturb them.
V-O-N comes to and end, and Lisa opens her eyes, finding her heart stuck in her throat. She swallows thickly, and turns her computer off.
Lisa goes to sleep, dreaming of Nine, Twelve, and V-O-N (hope).
