zoé and juleka are soulmates, and they've known it since childhood. they are connected by a magic string that is only visible to them, and that is tied between their little fingers. juleka has found a lot of comfort in this string over the years, just knowing for sure that even if she struggles to befriend people, there is one person that's determined for her and will always be with her.

however... one day, the string gets cut. it's an akuma that does it, one that cuts a lot of soulmates' strings, and when the fight is over everyone expects the strings to be remade by the miraculous ladybugs. but they don't reappear, at least not for juleka and zoé. they meet up and hold hands and try to kiss to reconnect their strings, but nothing happens - their connection is completely severed.

this leads juleka into an absolute crisis. she doesn't want to be alone, she doesn't want to be cut off from her one true love. she despairs for a week over it, and none of her friends are able to console her.

that is, until luka says something. "you're stronger than a little thread," he says, presumably to help her calm down. but what she reads it as is, "you have to fight to get her back." they both fell into their own spirals in the aftermath, and have barely spoken to anyone outside their families for seven days.

well, juleka is going to go on over to zoé's place, and she is going to tell the universe that she'll take zoé no matter what. she will bind them with rope, with chains, with witchcraft if she has to. but she is not losing zoé. even if they're not soulmates anymore, they are still going to be together.
