20 - Heavy In Your Arms by Florence + the Machine - due to MCR coming back I started listening to all of the music I was obsessed with as a teenager and Oh, Boy. This song. I was obsessed with it.

37 - Broken Pieces by Apocalyptica - SEE ABOVE!! Seventh Symphony is their best album imo.

58 - Boy with a Coin by Iron and Wine - again, see above. I also listened to an Iron and Wine cover and was just like, how have I forgotten about you??? I really had an I&W moment this year.

69 - How Not To Drown by Chvrches - I love this song sooooo much. I saw them in concert and when they played this song I went nuts.

81 - Nightshade by the Lumineers - this song is so creepy and I love it so much! This and Salt and the Sea are my fav creepy songs by the Lumineers.

5. where do you buy books? ok admittedly I do buy kindle books sometimes...for paper books I like to try various indie shops! I love used bookstores as well. When I go to bookstores I often try to keep an open mind instead of going in there for only one book. But my main source of books for reading is Libby! I love the library.

6. what books have you read in the last month? great question! I'm trying to get into audiobooks so I have something to listen to while I knit, so I am working on one rn, but I read

Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald,

Confessions of the Fox by Jordy Rosenberg

the Searcher by Tana French (audiobook, still working on this)

Finding the Mother Tree by Suzanne Simard (working on this)

11. what non-fiction books do you like if any? oh I was hoping someone would ask me this! It was my New Year's Resolution to read more non fiction because I just do not read any. I have liked almost all non fiction I've read. I think my favorite non fiction books so far are The Golden Spruce by John Vaillant (sort of like natural history and true crime about a tree, all in one) and The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander (extremely comprehensive book about incarceration and related systems). But I also really really enjoyed The Women's House of Detention: A Queer History of a Forgotten Prison by Hugh Ryan (about the namesake prison and the queer women and trans masc ppl incarcerated in it, gives a lot of gay history & context). My non fiction books are mainly either about incarceration or nature writing dfkjdshkjgjkdh

book you’ve reread the most times? oh no lmao! impossible to answer. realistically it has to be the Protector of the Small series, no book I've read in my adult life as an adult compares to the way I was (and still am!) obsessed with those books.

16. how many books have you read this year? 16 books! I have a goal of 50 which I don't think I will make but that's fine, reading is not about goals

19. most disliked popular books? hahahaha I think it is known that I hate One Last Stop! I just read Migrations and oh my fucking god what a bad book. I went into the Wolf and the Woodsman with big expectations due to how hyped it was and it was sooooooo bad like damn. Also lmao A Court of Silver Flames sucked. Honestly I do feel a bit bad for authors these days, it doesn't seem like they're getting the editing they need?

2) fav MCR song has got to be Famous Last Words! Tbh it kept me alive when I was 14 and my depression was just inescapable. This is a cliché answer but that’s alright haha

3) oh my god an impossible question!!!!! Right now I am going through a big Carl Phillips phase, though I also love Mary Oliver (who doesn’t?). Louise Glück and Ada Límon always get me. I also love love love Jack Gilbert, Rilke, of course Sappho, and Ocean Vuong! I’m really enjoying Richie Hofmann’s stuff.

9. have you ever seen an nhl game? if so who was it?

i have actually been to quite a few games. since i live in boston i try and see a good amount of hockey even though it’s hella expensive. my first game i went to when i started getting into hockey was actually when i still lived in dallas and i went to see the stars vs. pens! the most recent game i went to was bruins vs. flyers a few months ago.

10. what would be your dream game to see?

i would love to go to an outdoor game! the plan is to go see the stars winter classic game this coming winter since i’m from dallas. i would also love to see a battle of pa game but i think my blood pressure would be out of control.

20. do you have any signed hockey memorabilia?

i do have a signed evgeni malkin hockey card that my roommate got me 2 christmases ago!

SAME. I think about that piece a lot, especially as I’m still in the process of figuring myself out, and I can’t help but wonder if I would know myself better by now if I’d even thought of being queer as an option. It sucks so much that that’s a pretty universal thing for queer women :/

<3 <3 <3 it’s so frustrating because logically i think we would have known earlier, since life would have been less homophobic etc etc etc but it’s still so hard to even conceptualize? i’m trying to imagine being able to immediately recognize my crushes on keira knightly or sailor uranus from sailor moon as crushes............can’t do it. i was just like “oh i like them i want to be like them they’re so attractive....this is absolutely how straight people feel!” at the time and now i could just die from how ridiculous that is

It’s sad in parts but with a good/hopeful ending. It’s definitely not a tragedy. It’s an amazing movie that I totally recommend!
