I'm particularly enthusiastic about trying the Indigenous three sisters gardening method, and growing sugar baby watermelons.

I haven’t bought seeds since 2020. I also haven’t been taking the whole sustainable living thing as seriously as I'd really like to since then. There should be a huge difference in my results, and the amount of food I'm able to yield from my garden this year.🤞

This blog will run on transparency. For that reason, I’m okay to share that this order cost me about $70CAD ($48.52USD).

Garden Update #4

Hey Guys,

It’s been over a month since my last update and a lottt has changed.

We decided to order a relatively cheap greenhouse to keep the majority of my plants in over this year’s gardening season. It’s more spacious than anticipated. I got it on Amazon for less than $150CAD.

I just put out the first set of indoor plants and they seem to be doing well. After Mother’s Day on Sunday, I will be moving more plants outside. Peppers and tomatoes are the most developed of my plants but the cantaloupe and squash are quickly growing in size.

Recently, I planted some “cool weather” crops in my raised garden bed, and in that black pot pictured on the right of the above photo. In the raised bed, I put radishes, little gem lettuce, onions, and peas. In the black pot, I have broad beans. The radishes, broad beans, and peas have begun to sprout after about a week.

My indoor plants are doing very well. Can’t wait until they’re all outside and growing at full capacity!

Hey Everyone,

I’m starting this blog to track my progress with homesteading. I hope to complete tasks like growing fruits & vegetables, baking sourdough, brewing kombucha, cooking from scratch, and canning & preserving food. I’m homesteading in the suburbs so I’m a bit limited in what I can do. Someday, I hope to have chickens/ducks, cows and honey bees.
