VEE DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS
I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE I WASNT HERE WHEN SHE DIED AHHHH THIS IS HORRIBLE
"yue and suki never interacted" "yue and suki don't have chemistry" what do you call THIS
id in alt text
SO TRUE........ shame on me. i am a full on yueki shipper now guys because it’s in the text!!! they are gfs. see me at court
[straight person voice] so like.... who's the sokka and who's the zuko....
(in all seriousness though im happy for u guys fjjdjajak)
skdhfkdj well i mean i think we all know corey has to be sokka so
do you think roku and sozin were gay. bc i only ever see people be like “yeah this is universally acknowledged as truth” in a jokey way, which is fair but i never see people thoughtfully talk about possible implications and i think it could be legitimately interesting to take this question seriously
Sozin is the genocidal leader who kicked off the fire nation's colonial project and Roku is − well, the Avatar, but also a fire nation citizen − so any question of their possible relationship relates to the history and culture of the fire nation.
gravity falls is genuinely one of my favorite shows ever (and also the pines are some of my favorite jewish characters ever, even if it's never explicitly mentioned that theyre jewish). i was obsessed with it as it was coming out (while i was around dipper and mabel's age.... i'm old ig) and. my bat mitzvah party was gravity falls themed. i'm glad youre liking it! /gen
Oh yeah they're Jewish! I heard about that somewhere, don’t remember where. Just one more reason to love them :)
honestly idk why you give off tall energy to me ig it's that you're older than me and you seem cool...
omg shosh dhdjdjcj i’m 🧍🏻👉🏻👈🏻…
succulent?
succulent - what are you looking forward to?
going to sleep today because i was very much feeling like shit <3
what are ur thoughts on the gaang as the gangsey? my instinct is to say sokka as adam (ofc), katara as blue, zuko as ronan, aang as gansey, which ig means... toph as noah? if noah is anyone he's yue (dead).
sokka as adam definitely. every other adam-related quote is also sokkaesque. they both have this not quite pessimistic but pragmatic view of the world; their growth and character arcs relate to ‘letting go’ of the heaviest and most negative traits they adopted in order to keep their dignity in the face of the trauma they endured such as (adam’s) pride and (sokka’s) arrogance, and gradually, painfully slowly learning that it’s okay and not pathetic or irresponsible to rely on people you trust; are extremely intelligent but lack a significant amount of self-esteem; the concept of leaving their respective town/village is relevant to who they are and who they perceive themselves to be as people; hate the rich date the rich; very eloquent and probably the funniest person u know; have good taste in girls; have a troubling relationship with the concept of God; are bisexual; have murdered people on-screen/on-page; they are nonbinary; even though they are exceptional in the sense that one could apply the word ‘prodigy’ to them and people and everyone who meets them have a strong reaction to them, they consider themselves to be entirely unspecial and unremarkable and aim towards proving themselves all the time so their much more special friends won’t dispose of them along the way (friends who absolutely adore them by the way); both of their senses of self are so fucked. go to therapy girls.
aang could be gansey in the sense that he’s “separated” from his family in one way or the other but while aang’s character approaches this with a sense of community and legacy, gansey’s character approaches it with individuality and sense of self, which is why i’m gonna say: toph as gansey. or zuko as gansey, who are also similar because they are both neurodivergent and insensitive at times but are trying and have a cool lesbian for a sister.
aang as noah i suppose, because they are both separated from their families because of the rare and unheard of dead/alive dichotomy, and both of them have grief, loss of identity, and remembering/memory as a major and core theme of their respective characters. they are also (one of) the most mature and kind characters in their respective media, so.
zuko as blue is troubling and controversial BUT it could potentially fit i think because of one (1) aspect their characters share and that is the parallel of: blue is not a psychic but she possesses an important power she doesn’t know how to use because she was never taught to / zuko finds his strength in firebending in a very different way the rest of his family do, with a more artistic and round approach to it, compared to the militaristic and aggressive style the fire nation teaches. other than that i think blue could also fit katara (feminism, guy best friends) or toph (eccentric, small, smart and with a sense of wanting something more, wanting to leave and travel and meet their true potential, significant amount of similar vibes. huh. i guess toph as blue works out fine.).
i’ve wanted to rant about katara as ronan forever (regarding their characters alone and ignoring any of the implications that shipping adam/ronan brings to the table. this is not that kind of post, girls). first of all they both have this magic and this raw power that a big part of their identity is based around even when they don’t quite understand it; they were both isolated from the rest of the world since they were born (katara in the almost extinct swt, ronan in a magical farm); because of this and because of the fact that they are just... really sensitive and empathetic and genuine, their understanding of the world is heavily biased and incomplete, and they both somehow end up with the idea that the world is too cruel and too raw for them, resulting in 1) katara working hard to change it, 2) ronan ‘adapting’ to it by being Ronan Lynch thank you ladies and gentlemen; this is not saying they did not suffer, because they did oh boy they fucking did, but. both of their ‘innocences’ were somehow ‘sheltered’ by their older sibling, at least partly: ronan has no idea what declan is trying to do half of the time, the ways declan (another sokkaesque character) desperately tries to keep the family together and ronan alive, and ronan is very depressed, self-destructive, and suicidal, but he has pretty much no idea of the fairy market thing or the whole spider web of dreamers and dreams or his ‘value’ as the greywaren (spoiler alert i suppose) or anything else declan did about it for ronan ever, during his entire teenagehood. and katara has more responsibility and weight on her shoulders (of an entire subculture!!) than any fourteen-year-old girl should have, but it is apparent since the beginning of the show that katara is allowed to be optimistic and an idealist and impulsive and a daydreamer and a rebel, she talks about her mother and grieves a thousand times and cries on-screen and is loud and will be heard, because sokka is always there to be the pragmatic, self-repressive, and responsible voice of reason, who only talks about kya or his own emotional constipation when it involves the wellbeing of katara/the group somehow. this got long but just. katara as ronan <33
worth mentioning: yue as noah is also a good one and so tragic its insanity because both of their characters are defined by being sacrificed for something greater than their personhood that is entirely not their fault but they suffer the consequences anyway + after the sacrifice they both become a ‘spirit’ each in their own way. something something i have no meaning unless i’m wounded torn apart and sacrificed etc etc
