Hello. Zuko here! Finally got around to trying Zuko's scar, and at that rate, any type of FX makeup! I think I'll post a couple pics and a little tutorial for that one. Makeup here was easy. Still had my gold contacts in from doing Zevran's makeup. Added a tiny bit more eyeliner. Blackened and thickened my eyebrow. Done. The only time consuming part was the scar and that took ten minutes max!
It's amazing how cosplayers seem to struggle the most to find something to wear on Halloween.
Here's my Zuko and Halloween Town Demyx makeup from the past few days! I didn't get to go trick-or-treating, but wearing Zuko to an orchestral performance/screening of The NightMare Before Christmas on Saturday was a spooky blast! What did you do for Halloween?
Final Exam Project Research
For My final exam I will be creating a makeup inspired by the character Zuko from the animated series Avatar: The Last Air Bender. This character was burned with special fire in his late childhood. This has left him with a scar covering his left eye, eliminating his left eyebrow and spanning down his cheek. For this portion of my research I have in order:
- Three pictures of the character from the animated show at varing times in his life.
- One picture of the character in the 2010 live action movie. I do not like this make up at all. I think the scar is much to subtle however they may have opted to make it less graphic in order to be more child friendly.
- Four picture of fans cosplaying the character. I found these images on on the internet and chose these particular ones because they are each noticeably different from the other. It is so interesting to see how one part of one character can pull so much creativity out of people. (I will reblog the original posts of the cosplays I found on tumblr from users thefirelordtriumphant and idworkforabstergo)
- Lastly I have two fan drawn pictures of the character. I feel that the last one really captures the spirit of the character and I like how both depictions blend an animated style of art with a more life like style.
