Zurii's Dream Pt 1

He awoke with a start, the dream he'd just had was the most vivid yet. He felt the bed shift beside him, making him turn to see his … something wasn't right. He stared at the being who was sitting up in bed beside him, they were clearly familiar but it only left him puzzled.

"What's wrong, love?" Afriel asked as he stretched and nuzzled his mate. "Bad dream?"

Zurii just looked at him even more confused now. "Love?... Afriel… what's going on?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean why are you here…?" Zurii asked perplexed.

"Love, I really don't have time for this… was it your dream silly? You're acting strange."

"I'm not… ugh. Nevermind. I… it was just a bad dream." Zurii agreed just so he could think it through more later.

Afriel smiled and gave him an affectionate kiss, helping his mate up out of bed so they could each get ready for the day. After the morning routine and some breakfast, Afriel gave Zurii another kiss before he was off.

The other angel waited for the door to close completely before darting off around the home to see if this was the dream… something was so so wrong and it was acting like a stubborn itch that refused to go away. His eyes scanned the walls, tables, frames… anything that would give him a clue about what was happening.

The home felt all wrong around him, things were in the wrong places, items were missing and instead different ones were in their place. He finally laid his eyes on picture frames hung on a wall. The photos inside them were wrong. Everything was wrong wrong wrong! The photos were only of him and Afriel. Where was his husband… his mate… his bond?

"Vana…?" He called out to the home, hopeful to get the response he desired.

None came.

"Vana?... Ravana??" He tried to call for him again as if to summon him to the very spot.

When still no response came to him he had another idea, his hands grasped at his own body, frantically searching until they met their target. He pulled his phone from his pocket and started scrolling, the images were all wrong. Where was his demon? His husband. The pictures were of Afriel and him again, it wasn't right. His contacts only had angels and his faux mate.

He was starting to get distressed now, where was the demon. Was this a strange and cruel joke? He didn't like it if it was. It wasn't funny at all.

As he tried to figure out what was happening, he look around again. There was a lack of a certain furry companion who often came to his side when he was distressed like this. He looked around more, there was also a lack of things for said cat companion.

"Dusty? Dusty come out?? Please. Dusty??" He called, no familiar trill of meows greeted him, his heart only sank further.

His brain began planning a way to figure this all out, everything around him felt horribly different, nothing was right. The only plan that came to his mind was a barely thought through idea. Find Ravana. That was all he had to do, then things would be right.

The only remnants of his presence in the living room was a small puff of feathers gently floating to the floor. The trip to the Abyss was a quick enough one. Now that hard part began as he was faced with the King. He bowed his head immediately, not daring to meet his eyes when he arrived.

The King looked up from his desk and raised an eyebrow, this was something he hadn't seen in awhile. An angel, it made his skin crawl at being near it.

"What are you here for? Lost perhaps?"

"No my King, I'm not lost. I'm looking for a demon…Ravana."

Last Letter

My dearest Ravana,

This is going to be the last letter you'll receive from me, my love. To be completely honest, I have dreaded this day's arrival since we first spoke it into existence all those millennia ago. Knowing that these past few centuries have been our last as a inseparable bonded pair breaks my heart. Coming to terms that the next eternity will have us forever apart, shatters me. If I could make a wish, it'd be that you stay by my side through our life.

I hate to even acknowledge the reality of watching you change and wither. Your frailty is hard to grasp after knowing you for as long as I have. However, I promised you all those years ago that I wouldn't let you go in pain or discomfort.i fully intend to keep that promise of a painless end. Since my goal as your bond is to give you the best.

I'll hold you close in those last moments, to keep you company and remind you of my unending devotion and love. I'll keep my promise, by continuing to live on in your absence and to remember you as my beloved mate and forever bond.

To you ahuva, I gift you my love on your final journey.

"Please please please make it stop, please, it hurts," he sobbed. (for sentence starters prompt game)

"Please please please! Make it stop, please, it hurts!" He sobbed, body trembling on the floor.

"I don't think you've suffered nearly enough, little Dove. You have such pretty wings, it'd be a shame to keep them all folded up... so we'll fix that." Dr. Isaac said with a wicked grin.

Hooks pierced his skin, cutting through the tender and already bruised appendages. A scream left his mouth, loud enough for the demon downstairs to hear. His wings were broken, body covered in welts and his own blood, he was in total agony.

The hooks and chains went taut as he was hoisted in the air, a sickening display that forced him to appear as if he were in flight. All of it allowed his full limp weight to rest on his mangled wings.

"There you go dove, you look so beautiful like that. An angel in flight, your pretty wings on display." Isaac said as he ran his fingers through the bloody feathers.

Zurii shot awake, feeling phantom fingers still combing through. He buried his face in his hands as he sobbed in bed, knowing Ravana would wake to comfort him in only moments. His wings twitched against his back, reacting to pain that wasn't there.

Since I'm still in a writing funk. Here's some oc facts.

Zurii

He's an excellent cook and takes a lot of pride in his cooking.

He has a best friend, Afriel, who he gets annoyed with a lot since Afriel is a workaholic.

Zurii befriended a human named Tom and together they have coffee dates.

Zurii have four eyes in total, a pair of wings, and a tail.

Angels like him have an extensive array of tattoos, some (dis)appear depending on if his wings are out. His name is also tattooed down his spine.

Zurii purrs like a cat when he's happy.

Zurii originally was more roman/Greek themed, having a toga-like outfit. His mask was also originally inspired from Dream SMP fanart.

He's 100% my favorite oc

Ritz

He's based off a character from the Western show Bonanza as well as from an ai role playing game.

Ritz rides Echo, who is a very round, short, and tank of a pony. She was a gift to him to keep him around.

Ritz really enjoys biscuits, his favorite treat involves a biscuit and some homemade jam.

He's an expert gunslinger as well, having incredible aim with deadly accuracy.

He's short, Percy towers nearly a foot and a half above him.

He's a pretty bad singer but enjoys singing when traveling.
