I definitely can’t leave S..H.E.L.L.D.O.N in the picture here. Zuri ADORES him. She was quite surprised to see the contrast in personality between him and his creator. And Shelldon loves Zuri too. He finds her cooler than Donnie.

HEYY i was just wondering, does Zuri face any trouble regarding her feelings to Donnie and does it get worse when he starts liking her back and they ultimately each find out the other likes them. Since I assume she’s religious because of the hijab or at least her parents must be stern on Zuri not dating before marriage, so does that bring up any conflict between her and her parents if they ever find out about her and Donnie having mutual feelings and/or even dating?

here’s the thing, Zuri is not that religious. No, she isn’t breaking the rule of dating before marriage, she’s bending the rule (in a way).

in my head, Zuritello is fine because Donnie isn’t a human, he’s a mutant turtle. So any rules that applies to men and woman in her religion doesn’t necessarily applies the same to Donnie and Zuri. So in my opinion, it is fine for them to date

Her parents doesn’t actually really know much about her life. They never knew she was in the purple dragons, doing illegal crimes, or about the turtles. Like I said, as long as she gets good grades, they are chill with her. She does introduce him to her parents once they dated. (Which takes place after the show) Her parents are skeptical, but not long after they accepted that their daughter likes a mutant. They know Zuri well enough to trust her choice

Zuri was definitely having trouble liking Donnie because she won’t even admit to herself she likes him. She’s in denial most of the time. She would panic when he gets too close while Donnie is just wondering why she’s shaking than normal. She would literally ask Leo for flirting tips. And when Donnie likes her back, he is also in denial. It’s really hard for them to accept they like the other person

when they found out they both have romantic feelings with each other (which is really cute, I might write about that) they were silence (shock) and started to laugh because of how ridiculous they think their feelings are. Imagine, liking the person you hated.

She does have times where she questions her feelings, not because she was a Muslim and wanted to date a mutant turtle, but more of questioning if she has good taste in finding people attractive.

in conclusion: religion doesn’t play a big role in her dating life because 1. She isn’t that religious, 2. Her parents trust her, 3.she has never fallen inlove until now, 4.the rules doesn’t exactly applies the same to a mutant turtle
