Beauty: the adjustment of all parts proportionately so that one cannot add or subtract or change without impairing the harmony of the whole.

The Ball Chair was really my first love when it comes to design. It was in primary school when I cam across it, maybe back in 1998, or 1999. I used to think it as the ultimate icon of what design is all about. It was designed back in 1963. Maybe one day I will buy one for myself, who knows.
William Hunt patented the Safety Pin back 1849. It is a great invention, as it is still very useful. I use it daily on my safety reflector.
Turun Tuomiokirkko, originally built in 1300, is one of the oldest churches in Finland.
The Paltaniemi Church. It is located in the city I was born, and some of my ancestors have been buried into the old church yard behind the church. It was built originally in 1726, and at the time it was common for people to come to the church with big church boats over the lake. Those boats were operated by people rowing them. Pictures inside cover the stories of bible from the Adam and Ewa all way to the final days of the earth. The painting about heaven and hell has been partly over painted, as it was said to have been too shocking to many.
Artist Jani Leinonen currently has a big exhibition at the Helsinki Museum of Modern Arts, Kiasma. The exhibition is titled the school of disobedience. I haven’t seen it yet, but I will go have a look at it for sure. He was also invited to participate in Banksy’s Dismaland exhibition.
Banksy is one of the most famous (street) artists of the word today. His latest exhibition was titled Dismaland, and it was a bit different type of amusement park, as the video above shows.
I met Jussi Twoseven in Pipefest maybe 2006 or something like that when the festival was still held in my home county, Kainuu. I have tried to follow his work, and it seems to move forward still with great speed, as we can see from this big mural did in Pori this past August.
I came across this Banksy piece by accident last summer when visiting London. Now, over 4 years after it was originally painted around Easter in 2011, there was a plastic coating on top of it, and some painting on the plastic to cover the original piece. Banksy is a controversial figure, his work in my opinion is smart.
Kuokkalan kirkko, Jyväskylä, Finland. Church of Kuokkala. Built between 2008 and 2010. I wonder what style this one is. I cannot quite still analyse this, even if I probably should based on this art history course I am at right now.
Both these posters are made by the same artist called Shepard Fairey.
One of the legends of Finnish graffiti scene, Trama, has painted since the 80s, when he started at the age of 11.
