"Who's Got the Tea (or Coffee) Abroad?" . Er'body got the tea on er'body today, and I admit I love me some tea.👀 Well, not that kinda tea but the kind you drink.😏 My friend Tam invited me and another friend for coffee after stopping by her house, and although I'm a tea kinda girl, I actually felt like having coffee☕ at "coffee" shop, and I have to say it was really nice! . So, if you're ever in Da Nang, and you're a coffee kinda girl or guy, stop by Rainy Coffee and tell them the "Hello" video girl sent you! "So Gone" . I've traveled more than 7 years, with a little over 2 years being the longest stay in a country, albeit that time was spread over 3 cities. I've realized I only need about 3-6 months to really experience life in another country. So long commitments are out for me when it comes to work. Right now, most of what I do is online, so it's even easier for me as opposed to when I used to teach in the physical classroom. . How about you? How long do you usually stay in the countries you travel to or live in before you're gone? Weather: Love or Hate it? . I'm so in love with the weather in Da Nang, Vietnam right now. The rainy season is coming to a close, and it's nice and warm like I like it. . If certain types of weather effect you negatively, it could have a huge impact on your experience if your destination serves it up like Serena and Venus Williams. So, if it's a big deal to you, make sure to include it in your research before deciding where to go abroad or at least to prepare yourself so you know what to expect when you get there. . "Eating with Taiwanda" . Boy, I don't know if you can tell by the smile on my face that I ate good, but I did! I think even the light shown forth because of it.😂 We had some of the best pizza I think I've had in any of the countries I've been in. I had had some at another pizza place here in Da Nang, Vietnam which basically had no taste. I mean NADA- no salt, no nothing. However, a friend's friend suggested we go to this place, Al Fresco, where they said it was good, and they were right! Not only did their pizza have a taste, but it also had sauce under the cheese which apparently is something common in some other countries.😍 Lol...That one piece left, my friend and I shared, but I really wanted it all.😂 . Afterwards, we had some coconut delights at a specialty restaurant and took a walk, but as you can see, we're still smiling with very happy tummies. Not only did having great company contribute to it, but I think having pizza that was on point helped a lot. By the way, where in your travels have you had your best pizza experience? However, if you feel a need to warn us, we welcome the sharing of your worst too.😂 . "9 Years Ago To Be Continued..." . This very week in December 2009, I left the USA for the first time in my life and arrived in South Korea, following my dream of traveling the world AND as I continue today, several countries later, I'm happy I did. "Froliciously Traveling & Living Abroad" . Got big, natural hair? Wondering if it's okay to wear it out abroad? Well, I've rocked mine for more than 7 years in the countries where I've lived, worked and traveled. . The funny thing is that the only negativity I have received related to my hair regarding my dream of traveling the world was from an American recruiter who felt the need to tell me that it's not okay to try to force our ethnocentrism on people with a different culture when I was trying to find teaching jobs in Korea the very first time I was preparing to go abroad, as one of the pictures I had sent in was of me with my afro in full effect (so employers could see how my hair could be with no surprises later on). By the way, I ended up going with a Korean recruiter who had no problem with my hair, and well, the fact that I've been abroad more than 7 years now, tells the rest of the story- the people and employers have not not had a problem with it but have quite to the contrary been totally fascinated with it and want to know about it. "Construction Work in Vietnam" . "That's the sound of the men working on the building," literally right outside my window. There's really not much space between the two buildings which seems a bit weird, but it seems to be okay with them. The one they're putting up will basically block direct sunlight to the rooms on this side kinda defeating the purpose of having a window in the first place, I think. . Oh well. It's after 5pm, but this has been the first day of zero rain in over a week. So, I guess they figure they should get as much done as they can. It's only been a couple weeks, and the fact they're now on the second floor is astounding. They really build stuff super fast here. . I remember they did a lot of construction in China with lots of explosive sounds.
