Too late, hot plate.
I quickly wanted to write a quick summary of Dads at Wharf Chambers on 23.11.13, because I never had a chance to write about and it was a great show.
Unfortunately I missed Plough Lines because I was late out of work, but my friend said they were great - not too much I can say about that!
My massive surprise/delight for the night were Healing Powers, a Durham based screamo band that I'd never listened to before. A group of really talented musicians with a distinctive sound, which I personally believe will take them places.
Wade, a band that I'd heard before on their split with Healing Powers but had never seen live were spewing energy all over the place, not even using the stage, opting to play in the crowd for the duration.
Nai Harvest were as always a two-piece with real presence. They are a band with a high standard of performance and I've never felt disappointment from watching their set. After seeing them for the third time that year however, it didn't really excite me as much as the first few times - unless you count the undeniable smile that brandished my face during Whatever, Floor and Sitcom Fade-in.
Dads were an experience. They played a really captivating show that was pretty emotional, blended together by interludes of reverb-smothered guitar loops and amusing anecdotes about van urination. My personal highlight of the set had to be when they played Shit Twins, the longest track off of their 2012 debut LP.
To be honest, all of the bands were pretty great.
Upcoming gig reviews/videos/photos

Football, etc. and Papermoons @ The Fox & Newt 19.02.14 - Similar deal to the Headroom/Fade show, with interview(!!!!!!). I might try to film a few tracks also.
The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die with Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) @ Wharf Chambers 11.04.14 - A full review of the show complete with photos.
Outbreak Fest @ Vox Warehouse 13.04.14 - A full run down of my favourite bands from the day and perhaps an interview if I can steal one or two!
