This is one of my favorite parallels from the drama right here. It’s really simple, but conveys so much. The way first-person pronoun usage changes to demonstrate the journey of growth for his character is just *chef’s kiss.* Precise and powerful writing!

Episode 10 Demon Lord asserts dominance over the warring Moon Tribe. And he does this just by saying “This Mighty One (本座 Běn zuò) is back.”

Episode 36 Dongfang Qingcang (just a guy who can’t wait to marry his Moon Queen after a 500 year engagement) announces his return with a casual “I (我 Wǒ) am back.”
