Im startin to think Pittsburgh isnt real and its just a place yall made up....... squirrel hill... shadyside.... whos naming these places??
Pittsburgh feels more like a dream and less like a real place the longer I live there. The city has stolen all my hubcaps. I drunkenly babysat a professional athlete’s dogs. I beat up a dude on the North Shore at 2am while he was strung out on coke. This city is less of a location and more of an experimental bonus mod you unlock in Skyrim
I almost got stabbed for brushing some dude’s leg on a bus
there are wild bobcats being found in populated areas
every year, for an entire weekend, 5% of people are wearing their fursuits in public
children are said to disappear near potholes, never to be seen again
I’m only Pittsburgh Adjacent which somehow makes it worse when i do get down there
the roads don’t go any reasonable direction or at any reasonable angle and i hear some folks are still stuck going in circles with no way out
sometimes there are bridges that seem to exist for no goddamn reason. what are they crossing, why were they built in the first place. why are there so many
sometimes some parts of the city are underwater and instead of being all “hey maybe we should not build a road or a parking garage here”, the city of pittsburgh just goes “hey that bit is flooded today, don’t park or drive there, but maybe tomorrow?” sometimes the bits that flood aren’t even anywhere near the rivers
a pothole claimed my sister’s car last week. god rest its soul
In a lot of ways you survive Pittsburgh rather than live there.
Being born there grants some resistance, but not immunity.
