Rory stands in the throne room of the castle. It's the first time he's actually been in the castle ever. The week of the celebrations when Alix had officially taken the throne had been the week of the full moon. He and Grandpa had to stay home. He had to keep everyone safe.

And now, finally, he's here, and it's not for the social visit he knows Alix and Florian think it is. It's to tell Alix something that could change everything for them. For better or worse.

Rory and Alix had gotten close when he and Grandpa were sheltering the princes. They become like brothers. And all the while, Rory was keeping two major and dangerous secrets. One of which he's here to share.

"Alix," he mutters to himself, trying to practice. "I'm sorry but Grandpa and I... no..."

Alix was still trying to wrap his head around everything that had happened lately in his life. He felt like he was drowning with how many things were changing and he didn't fully know what to do about it. Florian was there to support him through everything of course but he had missed his friend at his crowning.

He had been out walking the grounds when he had gotten work of Rory showing up to the castle. He was thrilled to hear that he had arrived but he couldn't help but wonder where his friend had been lately.

As he entered the throne room he spotted Rory quickly walking over to where he was standing a grin on his face. "Rory! Where have you been? I've missed you." He reached out to pull the other into a tight hug as he came upon him. "Are you well?"

Jules tsks affectionately as they light a homemade candle.

"Lazy little kitty. You expect me to do all the work? I suppose you'll want me to undress and bathe you too?"

Not that Jules would mind, so long as it meant more intimate times with the man.

"I am the laziest of cats you know me so well Jules. If you're offering to do all the work you know I won't argue." He gave Jules his most winning smile as he moved to stand closer to them. "You always make me feel flustered when you flirt with me. You're too pretty I think that's the problem."

Days were rarely dull for Parin and that was by design. He didn't quite like being bored or just relaxing. He couldn't remember the last time he willingly sat at home and just vegetated. He knew that was some people's prerogative, but that surely wasn't him. Parin loved to wander and see what the world had to offer him because there was a lot out there. Sure, he had already seen quite a bit in his 34 years of life, but he was certain there was way more to explore.

One of his favorite places to go was Wonderland. There was always something wild going on there and if there was one thing about Parin, he loved to hear about it all and not be involved. Traveling down a previously walked upon path with a lute on his back and a pipe between his lips, he played a small ditty just for something to listen to. He was rather focused up on his song that he didn't realize that someone was dropping down from a tree above until they were right in front him. Parin's song abruptly stopped as he jumped backwards then placed his hand on his chest, willing his heart to slow down, "Apparently having a small heart attack." He laughed out then released a breath, "What were you doing up there?!"

Jasper couldn't resist grinning at the man as he placed his hand over his heart. It was rare that he got that reaction when he attempted to scare people in Wonderland. Most of the inhabitants were used to his antics and he rarely scared any of them now. He couldn't resist prowling towards the other a laugh leaving his lips as he got a closer look at him. "Just lazing about as cats do. What are you doing wandering around Wonderland on your own? Surely you would have more fun with a companion." He thought the other pretty enough and he wouldn't mind spending some time dragging him about Wonderland. "You're quite pretty. Someone might come snatch you away if you aren't careful." It was meant as a joke but there was always the undertone of malice that came through when he spoke to those he didn't know.

"     perhaps   the   weather   will   be   better   in   this   other   realm,   hmm?     "                  florian   says,   wrapping   both   of   his   arms   around   his   husband,   joining   him   as   they   watched   the   gentle   fall   of   the   snow   all   over   their   kingdom--   a   sheet   of   blinding   white   as   far   as   the   eyes   can   see.   it   has   been   a   year   now   since   grimhilde   was   banished   from   his   throne,   a   year   now   since   they   both   took   over   the   rule.

and   he   could   tell   by   snow's   eyes,   their   breath,   and   their   touch,   that   the   gravity   of   this   has   not   fully   sank   in   yet.   and   some   part   of   him   hoped   that   his   embrace   and   his   presence   was   helpful   enough   so   they   can   move   on   and   live   the   life   they   both   deserve.

"     we   will   need   to   leave   in   a   few   hours,   my   love.     "        he   says,   moving   even   closer   so   he   can   plant   kisses   over   snow's   shoulder,   tracing   a   path   up   to   the   side   of   his   neck.        "     i'm   all   yours   till   then.   tell   me   ...   how   can   i   make   you   feel   better   ...        "

Alix let out a small sigh of contentment as Florian's arms wound around him, leaning back to rest his head on the others shoulder as he listened to him speak. He found his voice to be soothing and while Alix was at times a bundle of anxiety and nervous energy he often found comfort in the company of his husband. "Perhaps it will be. I love the cleanness that the snow offers when it's undisturbed. It's almost magical."

Turning in his arms Alix smiled at him as he looked up at him through his lashes. His arms moving to wrap around his neck with a soft laugh. "Can I tempt you into not leaving? You know I hate being out in crowds." He knew he couldn't truly skip their plans but he was always tempted to try. "Perhaps we could go for a walk in the snow. Or cuddle up by the fire though then I truly won't want to leave in a few hours." He moved tilting his head up to press a light kiss to his lips. "Just being with you makes me feel so much better."

Jeb pouts at that restriction of no trying to eat the cat. "Fiiine, feline. that is our favorite kind of nonsense but we will give you that you are very pretty." They sigh dramatically. As the cat circles them, snarks poke their heads out to follow Jasper's movement. Jeb tosses away the top hat and it dissolves into the mist. Grinning, they continue, "allow? Nonono, we don't need permission. Monsters don't need permission to scare pretty petty petite humans. We simply do and will." And then they reach out, lightning fast, cupping the cat by the chin.

"Here, kitty kitty." They soon release Jasper, but not before giving him a little bit of scritch-scratches under the chin. "We shall go find humans first. And birds. Maybe birdmen... Do they still make those?" Jeb ponders as the mist spills out from under their suits, spreading out and soon engulfing the forest. Searching for a prey. "Found one." They start to walk toward the direction of a lost human.

Jasper did not feel bested by any in Wonderland save Jeb. There was something about them that left Jasper feeling off balance a feat that not many could accomplish. He couldn't deny the draw of Jeb though and he grinned as the other reached out to grip his chin purring as he leaned in a bit closer. "You are very pretty too. My favorite kind of monster."

He wanted to pounce on them and roll around in the scent that the cat found so alluring. "I've not seen any birdmen but I suppose we can go about looking for them." He grinned as Jeb turned from him and started walking not caring that he had no idea where they were going. He took a few quick steps reaching out to capture the hand of the other and twine their fingers together swinging their arms as they walked. "Now now my pretty monster don't try to lose me before we have our fun."

There were points in which the time patrolling Wonderlands many winding roads were considered a blessing, and Illadro was more than grateful to be patrolling right now. He was devoted to the Red King, absolutely, but sometimes his presence grew overbearing and claustrophobic. Illadro would continue to serve, as was his role as the Knave, but a few hours amongst the trees was a welcome reprieve from other duties.

The gentle meow of a cat drew Illadro from his thoughts, and he groaned a little as he watched it shift form, Jasper's grinning face replacing that of the animal. Irritating beast. "Official orders," he responded, continuing to walk, hoping the cat did not follow, "there has been a sighting of 'Alice' and I have been tasked with investigating. You haven't seen him have you?" He knew the cat and the blonde were close, "and spare me the riddles. I haven't the time."

Jasper gave the man his most manic grin as he listened to him speak. He loved the anger that his presence seemed to bring up in the other. He found it delicious and he never skipped an opportunity to pester him regardless of how many of his companions have warned him to not do so. He was not one to heed those warnings and he thought it fun to get into a bit of a fight every now and then.

"Now now my dear lovely knave. Do be kind to me won't you? I've only come to keep you company." He kept pace with the other easily enough skipping along beside him as he hummed thinking of Alice. "Alice? Is your delectable kind sending you out and about to find him? I'm afraid I haven't laid eyes upon the delicious blonde but I can help you find him. After all it would be no hardship to stare at you for awhile."

Jules laughs at the adorable ridiculousness of the cat.

"I suppose I'll have to make it up to you with giving you my full attention."

They run a hand up the front of Jasper's shirt, clearly insinuating how they might give him their attention.

Then they step away, placing the basket on their work table.

"I do have a treat, though I've only tested it on myself. I haven't figured out how to make the effects last longer than a few seconds yet, but it is still delicious nonetheless."

They pick up the small bit of cake and offer it to Jasper.

"Managed to smuggle a pinch of a substance called pixie dust from an island called Neverland. My hope is to make something that while you are caught up in the bliss of my herbs, you may physically lift up as well. Truly feel weightless."

Jasper couldn't stop the pout that came to his lips as Jules slipped away from him. He had been set to pounce on the other as soon as he was able and Jules seemed to be playing a game of cat and mouse with him.

"You look like a treat but I suppose let me try this cake if you insist that it is delicious." He sighed before grinning and taking the offered cake smelling it before taking a small bite from it.

"Neverland is a pretty place though not as pretty as Wonderland. Your cake is very tasty. Everything you make is tasty though. I think I shall just laze about for a long while and pester you and eat your cooking. Truly lean into my cat nature." He would go weeks just lazing about others homes if he was able to. He hated tending to himself.

"Oh are we friends now? Here I thought we were just tormentor and tormentee. I thought you lived to bother me." Alaric laughed not that he ever thought of the other as a bother, he was entertained by the handsome feline even at the worst of times. Alaric moved to wrap his arms around the other affectionately. How could he resist that smile. His smirk was so devilish and mischievous. It brought and element of chaos but in the most delightful way.

"What kind of chaos have you been causing hm? And better yet what kind of chaos do you plan to cause here?" he asked with a little smirk tilting his head to the side as he admired the other. "Such a pretty kitty you are."

Jasper gave the pretty man his best smile as he relaxed into his hold. He didn't mind being wrapped up in the arms of such a pretty thing and he allowed his own arms to move around him his hands moving up to play with the others hair. "Of course my lovely king. We're friends and you're my favorite to torture." He wasn't sure that was strictly true but it was true enough.

"I've not been causing any trouble. The only chaos I ever intent to cause is the fun kind. Is it my fault if not everyone shares my sense of humor?" He pouted giving the kind sad eyes as he sighed. "The prettiest kitten you've ever seen surely. No other cat can match my beauty after all. I insist you spend the afternoon with me."

Rome-Paul donned himself in the finest of clothes that was sure to keep any man warm in this harsh weather. However, it wasn't necessary for the entity to even wear the coat that he had on. This frigid cold air was nothing but a breeze to him. Rome simply wore the things that he did because he wanted to. Or rather, because other people would want to for themselves.

The golden-haired man would finally return to his cabin after observing others enjoying the festivities being held. And although he did notice the mammal following beside him, he just didn't expect it to enter alongside him. Not that it was surprising. For a creature this small, the snowy wonderland was probably too much the bear. Very well, he was going to allow it inside for now. Rome didn't plan on paying it too much attention until the cat was practically demanding it from him. Not well versed with handling small critters, the man scooped the animal up and brought him up to his face. "What's your name?" Rome asked it like he was talking to a human, no attempt in coddling it. Maybe he didn't even try after he sensed the magic that emanated from it. Believing it deserved some dignity. "Why my cabin?"

Jasper was used to people attempting to pick him up in his cat form and he only allowed it about half the time. He was fickle like that not always wanting to be cuddled even if he was the one to initiate contact. He meowed as he reached his paw out to boop the man on the nose. Purring loudly as he stretched his neck to seek out more pets from him. He loved to be given attention as long as it was on his own terms. When the man started speaking to him he almost shifted to respond but decided he didn't quite want to change his form yet. After all people were alright with a cat following them home but not necessarily a man.

He squirmed from the hands of the man and landed on his lap circling around a few times to try to get comfortable. He pressed his paws into the others legs for a few moments before finally deciding to lay down on his lap. A demanding meow leaving his mouth as he awaited the other man to continue petting him. He knew he would have to shift soon and give himself away but he was content to put it off for awhile.

Merlin loves Wonderland, so much so that he took a piece of its realm to establish Avalon. It's a land full of whimsy and chaos. It's always fun to take a stroll, and you never know when your head will roll. Today, he is just looking for a specific mushroom though, so no need to piss off any king, whichever color they may be.

The meow above his head catches him off guard, and the magician reaches for his staff out of habit. It turns out that's totally unnecessary, of course, since it is the grinning cat who revealed himself. "Ah, it's you." He returns a big smile, "perhaps you can help me, Jasper. I'm looking for a special mushroom... Ruby red, smells disgustingly sweet? I thought about going to the caterpillar but I don't know where they are these days." He could of course scry on the herbalist but it'd be faster to just to look for the mushroom himself.

Merlin was a pretty magician and Jasper never minded seeing him wandering the paths of Wonderland. He always made sure that when he saw him that he spent some time pestering him. It was his favorite hobby after all and he was quite skilled at it by now. He tilted his head in his cat like fashion as he listened to what Merlin was looking for. At the mention of the caterpillar he signed happily thinking of his pretty friend. He could take Merlin to the caterpillar of course but he also had seen the mushrooms in his travels and decided he would take Merlin along with him down the path.

"Come along my pretty magician and I shall show you these mushrooms. While we're in search of them you can tell me what you're up to. Are you getting into any mischief?"

Jules chuckles and shakes their head. They pluck one last leaf from the bush then wraps their arm around Jasper's.

"I wasn't denying you attention, dear Jasper," they say, leading the cat back to their abode. "But I suppose it was my mistake to even consider splitting my attention between you and my work."

They lean over and press a kiss to Jasper's cheek.

"I always miss you, Jas," they say. "No one appreciates me like you do. And I cannot appreciate anyone like I can you, beautiful feline."

Jasper always thrived in the attention Jules offered him. They were like sunshine and as a cat he of course wanted to bask in their presence. He grinned as he allowed Jules to drag him along wrapping them up in his arms as much as he could while still walking down the path. He adored them more than most and so they were bothered by him more than most as well.

"It was very much your mistake Jules. Never presume you can do anything at the same time that you are with me. Your pretty words will make up for your mistake though. I can't stay annoyed with you." He skipped along down the path and let himself in the others home dragging them along with him. "You're exceptionally pretty today Jules. Do you have any treats for me?"

It's my birthday so I'm out and went to watch Mufasa and it was great!!! I am hoping to be on tonight to get some replies done and look into a new character!
