Short Landoscar prompt: Travelling to/from a race or the MTC together 🛩️🧡
It's still too early when his alarm goes off. His flight got in later then expected so Lando didn't got the amount of sleep he wanted and now he feels off, like his thoughts are being pulled through one tiny doorway in his brain and his muscles are made of jelly.
He pulls himself out of bed after checking his phone, the only important thing is his manager telling him that they need to leave in an hour. That gives him just enough time to take an ungodly hot shower and get dressed, the track being further away then some others.
By the time he gets out of the shower and dressed, it's been nearly 45 minutes already and he can't help but groan to himself. He should have ordered room service before getting in the shower so he could have eaten something quickly before they left or taken it with him, not realizing how hungry he would be.
He throws everything he needs for the day into his bag and makes his way out of the room and towards the elevator. Just as the double doors open, a door down the hall closes, grabbing his attention. He looks over to see Oscar looking down at the phone in his hand making his way down the hall with a backpack swung over his shoulder.
"I expected you to be at the track already," Lando says, pulling the others attention away from his phone.
"Nah," is all he says, a smile curling the corners of his lips up. "How'd you sleep, you got in late, yeah?"
"Like shit, thanks for asking," Lando says with a big fake smile that makes Oscar laugh.
They make their way downstairs to find a car waiting. When they get in, Lando immediately lays his head back and closes his eyes.
"Wake me up when we get there."
"Mm," Oscar replies, already looking at his phone again.
It's been less than ten minutes when Lando's stomach growls loudly. He'd been trying to ignore the hunger that was slowly growing, distracting himself by thinking of what he'll eat as soon as he unloads all of his stuff into his room. Which, now that he thinks about it, probably doesn't help.
He groans and sits up, looking out the window. So much for getting a nap in.
He looks over at Oscar, who's holding something wrapped in paper out to him. Lando takes it from him raising his eyebrow.
"What's this?" The smell of bacon and egg and cheese hitting his nose as soon as he unwraps it.
"A sandwich from breakfast this morning, figured you wouldn't have time to eat so I grabbed an extra. It's probably cold by now though, sorry." Oscar's not looking at him as he speaks, too preoccupied by the screen in his hand.
Lando feels something in his chest warm, the fact that Oscar thought of him even though he had no reason to. Knows him well enough to know what he'll need.
Lando eats the sandwich quickly, hungrier than he thought, eyes heavy again as soon as he's done. Before too long he feels himself drift off, the movement of the car lulling him to sleep.
There's a hand in his hair, that's the first thing he registers. Gently petting his head, being careful of the mess of curls. The second is someone talking. He can feel the voice more then hear what they're saying, rumbling through the side of his body with a familiarity that almost brings goosebumps to his arms.
A door opens and closes, shaking the car enough to bring him further into consciousness.
"I know you're awake," Oscar says quietly into the small space between them.
"Mm, no I'm not," Lando whines, pushing his head further into Oscar's neck from where his head had ben resting on the others shoulder.
Oscar chuckles. "Ah, so you're just answering me in you're sleep, then?"
"Well Mr. talking in you're sleep, we have to go to work."
"Five more minuets." Lando pulls himself closer to Oscar, wrapping his arm around his waist.
"Lan," he whispers. "There are cameras outside."
"So, we need to get out of the car."
"Ugh, fine." He pulls himself away from the comfortable warmth that is Oscar's side with a sigh. He rubs his eyes, trying to wake himself up as he starts to gather his things, Oscar doing the same beside him.
Lando reaches for the door, about to get out after grabbing his things, when Oscar starts laughing beside him.
"Wait, wait. Lan, look at me."
Oscar has a lopsided smile on his face when he looks back at him. "What?"
"Darling, your hair…" Oscar lets his thought trail off as he looks at Lando's head.
"What's wrong with it," he asks, subconsciously touching it.
Oscar shakes his head looking around for a moment before grabbing a hat, handing it to Londo. "Trust me."
Londo grabs the hate from him, fitting onto his head and looking at Oscar.
"Lets start the weekend, baby," he answers with a big smile, opening the car door. The flashes from the cameras and voices of fans overwhelming in the best way with Oscar right beside him.
