Y'all do realize TERF and SWERF aren't just shorthand for "transmisogynist" and "whorephobe" right? Like y'all realize they refer to specific schools of feminist thought and discourse that specifically and intentionally target those identities? All of society is transmisogynistic and whorephobic - and that includes every person and especially every company. Britain is ruled by TERFs not because it's transmisogynistic, it is run by TERFs because the popular feminist ideology there is based on TERF conceptualizations of gender and sexism.

A company pivoting away from associations with sex workers because they're bought out by conservative Christians is not SWERF-y, it is whorephobic. If they pivoted away on the basis that sex work is inherently anti-feminist, or that sex workers are synonymous with victims of human trafficking, that is SWERF rhetoric. If a person refers to trans women by a transmisogynistic slur or implies transwomen are "unnatural", that doesn't (necessarily) make them a TERF. Rhetoric that positions trans women as predatory men, targetting women, or uniquely sexually dangerous and perverse is rooted in TERF rhetoric. It's about framing these issues in the context of feminist discourse and praxis.

These distinctions exist because they matter. The way a Conservative Christian views me is not the same way that TERFs view me. Different beliefs often lead to different tactics or different forms of harassment. We created different terms for what we face for a reason, it's not helpful for you to erase that.
