OH. OH THIS IS COOL.
“Wybierałam dziewczyny, które podobnie do mnie nie czuły się istotami pięknymi. Moje pierwsze portrety zdumiały mnie samą: ‘Przecież one są śliczne! Tylko nie znają samych siebie’”
“I’ve been chosing girls who - just like me - didn’t feel they’re beauties. My first portraits surprised myself: »These girls are so beautiful! They just don’t know themselves.«”
Zofia Nasierowska, 1938-2011
Portraits taken by Zofia Nasierowska [1931-2011], Polish photographer who was called the “queen of portraying the Polish stars”. Since 1956 she belonged to the Association of Polish Art Photographers [ZPAF].
Nasierowska’s work was said to be outstanding and thanks to unique techniques in the lighting setup she was able to bring up the beauty of the seemingly average-looking or bring encouragement the most shy models. Most of the shots taken by her became the iconic portraits of the Polish “PRL era” stars.
After 35 years of active work she stopped photographing due to a growing eye disease.

I got the “Learning English with JJBA” and its GREAT!! if you can, snag this book! It has all the best lines/ dialogue in dual japanese-english; a fantastic learning tool
So many mistakes in the English, though… :C It’s really pretty bad. I’d actually recommend it for native English speakers who are studying Japanese, rather than the other way around. Haha;;
now thats what I agree with - a total treat for Japanese learners but dont trust it wholly if you are trying to learn English hehe (there are even straight up spelling/ grammar mistakes)
Yeah, definitely, even in the few pages that you photographed, it’s packed with errors.. D: I’m kind of shocked… why don’t they hire someone who knows English? HIRE ME, SHUEISHA!! PLEASE!
But! If you’re a native or high-level English speaker and you can understand the English despite the errors, the Japanese is pretty simple and fun to read! The book design looks awesome, too.. I honestly want it, lol.
Itchiku Kubota [during the 1970’s and 80’s] made his artistic Kimono inspired by Tsujigahana, a long lost XVIth century technique he spent 30 years re-inventing, to create “Itchiku Tsujigahana”. After many trials and errors, at age 60, Itchiku finally discovered a technique to revive Tsujigahana which he named “Itchiku Tsujigahana” : a perfect marriage between past and present as homage to a historical and admired technique.
Through acclaimed exhibitions in Europe, North America and Japan, “Itchiku Tsujigahana” technique gained worldwide recognition. So did Itchiku Kubota who was awarded the French Arts and Culture Medal in 1990. Text and images from the thekubotacollection website
If a catastrophe caused the Internet to crash, there are 7 people in the world who have keycards that can reboot the system when all 7 keys are used together. Source
It’s getting to the point where technology is indistinguishable from magic. "Oh, no, the MASSIVE INTANGIBLE LIBRARY OF INFORMATION which allows humans all over the planet to communicate and share information has ceased functioning! Call upon the seven sages whom hold the artifacts which will repair it!"
Dude its even better than that, they have to journey to a certain location in america to combine their codes into the Master Code which can revive the internet.
did fucking hideo kojima design this system
