absolutely obsessed with the religious symbolism in sk8. i love that tadashi is snake....he introduced adam to skating, his sin (i really really think skating was a reprieve for adam to get away from the stifling abusive confines of his childhood). his aunts probably found out about the skating, aka this shirking of his duties, and this forever caused a rift between him and tadashi. and now, if 's' is adam's paradise, his reprieve from his earthly obligations and duties, then tadashi being the snake is going to cast him out of it..... he'll be the cause of adam's downfall.

Hisoka is loved, Adam is hated. Why is that?

Hisoka comes from anime, in which the universe is a little weird and bizarre, so his persona doesn't stand out so much. He is weird, crazy and clearly a psycho - he intended to kill the main protagonists, however he didn't do so. He only badly injured them (Leorio, Gon). Yet, people still love him.

Then what about Adam? Adam comes from sports anime, the target audience are girls. The anime overall is normal, aside from one person: Adam himself. Adam is weird, complex, crazy and clearly a psycho, just like Hisoka. He has injured the protagonists (he hasn't killed them yet). So why people hate him?

If I am right, it's because of the target audience of the anime. The target audience is most probably accustomed to "normal" sports anime, without some weird psycho characters (Akashi). When they started watching SK8 they most probably wanted something normal (you know, cute, friendships, this kind of things). That's why for them Adam is out of place - it's like he doesn't belong to the anime, because this kind of characters can be seen in "weirder" universes.

So, I personally started watching SK8 only for Adam and I must say I love his persona. Other characters are ok too, however they are what I would expect from "typical and normal anime", therefore they are a little boring for me. I love anime with twisted universes (HxH, JJBA), therefore his persona is not as weird for me as it would be for people who prefer normal universes (high school, sports etc.).

I am quite sure if he came from different anime (something like HxH) then he would be much more popular.
