Once again, she listened to her speak, letting Tan say her piece. Once she finished, Kai let out another, softer sigh, keeping her eyes trained on the other. A pause, and she sipped her coffee.

"You needn’t apologize, Tan. You did what you felt was right and what you had to do… I’m just glad you’re back with us now. I was worried for a while." She set the mug down, crossing her arms loosely on the table, and smiled genuinely. The fox had changed so much.. both of them have. 

"Will you be staying around for good this time?"

Perhaps it was rude to ask, but Kairo missed the company of the fox greatly. To re-intergrate her back in the group would be wonderful… she could get reacquainted with everybody and meet the new friends they had. Catch up on old times… yeah, that sounded good.

Tan laughed softly, the kind that was barely more than a sharp exhale through ones nose. "Sounds just like you. Worrying, I mean."

Her eyes stayed glued to the table, but not as though she was determined to keep looking away from her old friend; more that she couldn't find enough energy to look up. So, instead, she picked up her mug and sipped quietly.

"I don't know, Kai," she told her honestly. "I caused so much trouble before, and you know as well as I that-" could she say our group? Did she still have the right? Then maybe that group? No, too detached, "-that you lot get up to enough drama and trouble without my aid."

Tan thought she would explore if the fear in her built up much more. She should have known that keeping her forest that quiet would have caught the attention of someone, but there was no time to be regretting things now. Her happy, demon-free zone was being graced with the presence of an Angel and she wasn't sure if she should bolt or try to play it off. 

Angels weren't to be fucked around with, though. Even the dullest of the dull knew that. So she fumbled with her basket of flowers, cleared her throat and tried to display her best manners.

Kairo had a feeling the silence would be appreciated.. and in all honesty, she needed a moment to herself to truly realize that the fox had returned after such a long time of not seeing her. The last she saw of the woman, Tan had thrown away all her cares to the wind and drank and partied and traveled. It wouldn’t have been of concern if Kai didn’t receive the news from the other fox that she was dying. 

But now there she was… alive and well… 

Her human guise fell in place as they entered the cafe, flashing a friendly smile to the waitress when they sat. Then came another silence after they were left alone. When Tan spoke again, Kai only heaved a slow sigh, attempting to meet her eyes.

"You were gone for so long… what happened?"

A crooked smile played on Tan's lips, carefree and lazy. "I went sightseeing. Travelled all over Africa, with a side of charity work. Freeing up some "previously undiscovered" water reserves for the local communities to use," she spoke, sipping on her coffee before setting the mug back down with a sigh. A happy sigh, she decided, nothing like the tired, despondent sighs she used to have.

She tilted her head to one side, just slightly, and looked Kairo in the eye, lazy smile still in place, although her eyes began to betray the guilt building in her gut. "I'm sorry for disappearing on you. I know it was rude of me, but I was..." she barked out a laugh, followed by a sigh that said 'I can't believe I'm about to say this', "I thought I was dying, but it turns out I'm just a gigantic hypochondriac. I suppose I kept expecting to be found and killed, so when my father died I kept looking out for things that might kill me."

She laughed again, this time at how pathetic she'd become. "I'm sorry- again. I'm such a coward."

Ring up your provider and ask if you don't have a manual that explains the meanings of life and the such, bc if you can block the site for good, it just ensures that it can't happen again from that site at least.

Oh, and be firm with your neighbours! Tell them that this will be their only warning and that if this happens again, you give no shits and you will cut them right off because shit like this can get really, really serious. Like, jail time serious depending on country/state, etc
