The lemure had actually been rather easy to dispatch, which was both great and disconcerting at the same time. Maybe she was starting to get paranoid, but it could mean there was more to come. After it was destroyed, a feat that for once did not leave her dripping with sweat, Sailor Moon approached the victims, helping a brunette girl around her age up with a gentle smile as she asked if she and her little brother were okay.
There had barely been an answer when the boy addressed her and Usagi blinked a bit at his question, thrown off, confusion furrowing her brow as she tilted her head at him.
“Tricks?” she echoed, kneeling down so she was closer to his level rather than talking down at him. Of course, Usagi wasn’t that tall to begin with so she didn’t have too far to go. As for his question, she wasn’t sure that she liked how he questioned it. Tricks. As if she was deceiving or performing street magic. She was doing neither. If it weren’t for the fact that he actually looked genuinely curious, she might have thought he was trying to get a rise out of her. After she’d just saved his life.
It’d happened before; kids could be strange.
“What do you mean by that?” Sailor Moon asked, adding on as a bemused smile curled her lips, “I just used my powers.”
the way she looked at him reminded him to tread lightly. even if he wore the face of a kid, and turned a tone of childish wonder -- he didn’t want to accidentally offend the person that more than likely saved their lives.
however, that was just the person he was -- so he pushed forward a bit.
❝ yeah ! tricks ! magic tricks, kinda like the kaito kid, huh ? magic isn’t real, right ? ❞ finger settles at his lip, and his head lulls slighly in that same mock curiosity.
shinichi believed in nothing, but the truth. nothing, but what he could touch and hold in hand. so, of course, he wasn’t going to sit there and suddenly just take the other’s word as law.
❝ powers ? like a superhero ? those aren’t real either. ❞ finger taps at his lip, a soft hum along with it.
