a brief look into super creek
i originally posted this as a reblog to a confessions acc post but i realized that reblogs don't appear under hashtags so! reposting this here for more people to see. i wrote this with the goal of hopefully helping more people understand creek as a person, rather than reducing her to nothing but "oh goo goo babies so hot"
creek is an incredibly interesting character to me because she reminds me a lot of myself!! she isn't just like that for absolutely no reason and it's a shame that people ignore most of her traits to turn her into a joke or sexualize her.
while it's clear that for the most part she's very naturally caring for others, a big part of it, which she mentions herself, is that she's so empathetic that it gets to the point where seeing anyone hurt or upset feels suffocating to her. so while it's convenient for others, she mostly does it for herself
also keep in mind the fact that her family runs a daycare! purely headcanon for this part of course, but it'd make sense for her to be raised in such a way that she never entirely figured out how to express her affection for others outside of being a caregiver
however, she also does seem to have an issue of ignoring her own needs for the sake of others.
not only that, but she seems to have some problems with her self-worth. she gets very upset when she can't coddle others because she feels like people don't want her.
creek seems to be overly critical with herself and hates the idea of doing anything wrong, being quick to blame herself for things that aren't her fault at all. in fact, it kind of seems like she's so harsh on herself that she'll get really upset over things that she apparently did wrong in her head that weren't even an issue in the first place.
she'll also lie about her own feelings or health just to avoid people worrying, though she folds incredibly easily
super creek lacking proper self-esteem and probably needing some therapy to help with that aside, she's a bit of a dork. she can be a little mischevious, first thing that comes to mind is the Let's Share event where, when you choose the dialogue option where the trainer playfully refuses to be spoiled, creek starts. very obviously guilt tripping you.
it's a little silly! she does have serious reasons for wanting to spoil others, but she also really just does find it fun and is not afraid to mess around to get what she wants.
also, she's not too great at accepting people being kind to her! she usually redirects it right back at them. it's not really a bad thing or a conscious decision; she just doesn't think of herself enough is all.
unfortunately, she's so insistent on coddling people that she fails to see when they simply don't need or want it. a great example of this would be the Rough Massage! event, where, despite oguri's protests, she ends up dragging her off to be . pretty poorly massaged to the point of her screaming in pain
there's probably way more i could talk about, but i'm sure this is plenty enough for people to understand her just a little bit better. i could add some more if anyone is interested, though!
