wow it's soooo wacky and zany that a man is professionally benefiting from misogyny by being a man, including preferential treatment by other men such as his boss at work, that's just so unusual, what a crazy twist, so wholesome chungus allyship that a man treats another man better than women
my long time conspiracy theory is that the huge prevalence of "dead wife" trope is because a lot of writers want their cool male protagonist to be single and/or focused on his goal but don't know how else "justify" him not pursuing women around him sexually or god forbid turn their advances down that is not emasculating in their mind
Wow NASA has a what did Hubble see on your birthday
Let me just open up that bad boy to my birthday and see my cool space vis---
Sure. Sure yeah. Okay. That's Fine. That's really fine and good. Really normal.

Eyup, LoK gang, I have a question for people who have access to The Dead Shall Rise comic. @songbird-and-her-fos inflicted shared some screenshots of Ascendance with me, and they're still haunting me.
There are a load of tells in these of an artist who is just not very experienced or good at pixel art. The green outlines in Raziel here are a really good example of jagged uneven curves that would not have been left by anyone who knew what they were doing. It's difficult to tell if the Janos attack scene fell into the beginner pitfall of having way too many similar colours, making the whole thing look more like a compressed jpeg than intentional pixel art, because a filter was put over it after the art was done and blown up to its final size, resulting in something that does not look good.
But it's the last two that have such a weird mix of stark contrasts and weirdly smooth colour shading that feels almost like the different elements were drawn by different people that made something click. They don't, to me, look like images meant to be pixel art. And the third picture, with the crow, feels weirdly familiar. So I have a theory that some or all of these were at least partially traced from the comic. Unfortunately, the comic scan I read was taken down, so can anyone with access to the comic confirm/disprove this theory?
Its because some were actually ripped straight off the comic š some are slightly redone and/or frankensteied together to make a single image, as you can see with elaleth
OP you're 100% correct. Just to showcase how 1:1 all of the ascendance pixel cutscenes are. I'm almost certain all of the cutscenes are traced and frankensteined like binglebawb mentioned either from TDSR or the Melchiah comic (the first one in this set that's super detailed). Having to churn out the game in approximately a year's time is probably a big factor as well
Oh my god. Thank you both for the confirmation of my suspicions, this is worse than I thought.
just received the best text message Iāve ever had. from my mom

Your teens are for depression, your twenties are for transitioning, and your thirties are for killing
i never see misandry accusations leveled at men
men will call other men they dont think are upholding the ideal of masculinity bimbo bitches unworthy of holding a cum rag. theyll call twinks their natural subservient varangian sex toys. but despite this, ive never seen a man be called a misandrist ! instead they are rightfully called homophobic, transphobic, sexist, etc. almost as if misandry is not a real axis of oppression employed by the people in power š§
u ever think about how some mental health disorders literally have criminal activity as a criteriaā¦like not even pretending just straight up āif you donāt follow the laws of the state youāre insaneā hmmm wonder why that might be
i do actually think it's crazy that employers get a say over shit like tattoos and piercings and we just let that happen
