In the middle of the night Tao was standing outside of the Yao Guai Apartments, only wearing a tank top, shorts and slippers. He wasn't the only one, surrounded by other residents of the apartment building, he was watching the firefighters doing their work. They were woken up by the fire alarm at this uncivilised hour and on one hand Tao was thinking it must be a false alarm, but on the other hand not even he would do a prank at this late hour. If there was really fire, it didn't look serious at least. It was a mild summer night and Tao was shivering a bit, but more because of tiredness than the weather, and rubbing warmth into his hands as a jacket was put on his shoulders. A little confused and surprised he looked at the firefighter beside him, wondering if he looked like a damsel in distress for a moment, before he mumbled under his breath. "Uhm, thank you... I think." and before the firefighter could leave again, he asked quickly. "How much longer until we can go back inside?"
