I’m feeling ballsy so I’m saying it here.

I feel like he does know how to read and write but it’s either, in a really old language that no one uses anymore, or if you go with a hc I like to use

A language that’s not used in any other au.

I feel like if you don’t use the story point of him being turned to stone, then it’s likely he has learned other languages in order to actually survive.

But if you use the he was turned to stone hc, then yeah dream is a fish out of water and not only can he not read or write in a language that people can understand, he also can’t speak a language people understand either.
