I used to think my 3 day weekends had to filled with epic adventures outside of Florida (or at least Gainesville). There may not be mountains here, but I’m learning there is so much beauty to be found in this place I call home. Thanks to this friend for teaching me about every tree, plant, and animal in the prairie & being down for a 20 mile bike ride even though we forgot sun screen and water. On July 1 we climbed Irene’s Arete on Disappointment Peak (just adjacent to the Grand Teton). It was a 23 hour car-to-car kind of day filled with 30 mph winds, exposure, down climbing 40 degree ski slopes in the dark, and a whole lot of type 2 fun. I wouldn’t change a thing. 2 vastly different perfect days occurred yesterday: I went to a winery and had a fancy steak dinner outside of LA & Teddy climbed the full exum ridge route to summit the Grand Teton in 19 hours!
