Let's feed Velvet the curly hair tarantula her first meal in her new home! A tasty cricket.

I just upgraded her from a small plastic enclosure to a 10gallon aquarium. She is still settling in, but hopefully we can get more footage soon. She has been shy since the move.

Female curly hair tarantulas can live 20-25 years in captivity! The males live much shorter lives, maybe two years. Poor little guys. They have a higher chance of survival if you separate them from the female after mating. 😅 She will try to eat him so he can nourish their young with his paternal sacrifice.
