I can’t speak for a lot of places, but where I live there are like bugs and we don’t have carpets on most of our floors. I don’t wear shoes indoors like my family does, but most of them wear shoes to not get splinters/step on staples/step on bugs.

And no just wearing socks doesn’t help because they snag on the floors and tear. My cousin can vouch for that one all of her socks have holes in them.

Plus my granny can’t walk around barefoot or else her foot starts swelling up.
