180605 - My study space with revision and some freehand drawing practice. :) I received a grade I’m really disappointed in on an essay that I worked really hard on and it put me out of sync yesterday, I didn’t get anything done. But I decided to take today as a refresher day, I pulled myself together this morning, cleaned my study space, did yoga, ate healthily and studied for 3 hours. I’m going to take this bad grade and use it as motivation to do well on my final exam. I’m going to work even harder than before to boost my grade back up to an A+. 🌟 remember that grades don’t define you and you can always do better, your potential is unlimited!
i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls
Never don’t reblog this. There are so many people who have such bad anxiety about phone calls. This can save so many lives
…I almost killed myself
I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.
I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.
That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.
Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.
Thank you man at McDonalds.
The milkshake saved my life
I hope you all can read this and remember to be kind
The smallest of gestures can save a life. My Mum answered her phone when I called and I am alive today because of that.
I’m glad you’re here.
It’s a phone call, a milkshake, a friend.
I feel like I shouldn’t keep reblogging this but when I do more people see what kindness can do…. I don’t know. Love everyone as yourself.
Nah, keep rebloging it. It gives hope.
walked sobbing around a city once wearing a summer dress in mid-september thunder and rain. basically dragged myself into LUSH as the smell of the store always made me smile. the shop was empty and dead due to the weather, just this blonde short woman behind the counter who smiled at me. i stared at her feet and asked ‘do you have anything for people who are scared a lot?’ (i was so out of it i had no clue). she showed me two bath bombs, one pink and one blue, and said both were good - i chose the pink, paid for it and left. i then sat at a bus stop clutching the LUSH bag in one arm and my prescription meds in the other - i’d lied and ordered a refill so i could just drift away with sleeping pills. when the bus arrived and i was out of the rain, i decided to have another look at my bath bomb, smell it and what not. opened my bag and saw she’d put the blue one in there for me as well and written on the receipt ‘feel better soon :) hope you like x’.
no one had ever been so selflessly kind to me before, i didn’t know what to do with it except hang around long enough to use the other bath bomb.
Actually I’m going to reblog this again because of the truth of the inverse: think of any time you have been casually cruel or petty to someone for humor or because you weren’t in a great mood.
The power of small gestures goes both ways.

I’ve written my first notes for summer school!! And I’ve now done about 18 hours of #thestudyingnovember challenge! Today has been a really good day. I met up with a friend that I hadn’t seen in ages, cleaned up a lot of clutter in my room, and got everything done that was on my to-do list 😀 . Let me know if you’d be keen to 👀 me start a YouTube channel (I’m very much considering it). . I hope you’re all doing well, and if you’re not.. remember that tomorrow’s a new day! 😘
27-10-2018. My law exam is in less than 2 days and I’ve been flustered all day… so Winnie jumped up on my desk to say hello (and sleep).

Ocean fact 7/100!
Most whales will shed dead skin continuously through their life (like a human does). Belugas do something called molting, which is basically removing the outer layer of dead skin. Every year in the summer hundreds of belugas will gather in the north of Baffin Island in Lancaster Sound, Canada to molt and give birth.

i found an amazing way for me to get by during orgo class, and that’s by taking book notes before class, then taking notes from the ppt before she presents it, and then annotating the notes that i have with what she says. it’s been really helping me out ! i don’t know if it’s clear, but i’ve taped the ppt notes together like a booklet, and it’s honestly so cute !
meanwhile, i’ve been having some really crazy and fun times with my friends, including me playing tetris with my nintendo controller during a childhood birth video, running all over campus to turn in two labs, and talking about music and linguistics with c !

i got a lovely ask from @ggoatboy regarding my note-taking tips, and while i rarely took classes where i had to take notes from text, i took a LOT of notes from lectures, so here are some tips re: those!! my great note-taking is what got me through school with a perfect GPA and minimal actual studying, so i’m big on notes
i’ll start off with saying that my lecture notes were messy af, but i had to consciously decide to not worry about it during class. your only concern during class is to listen and get down as much info as you can!
before i walk you through all this stuff, i’ll give you the quick and dirty:
don’t worry about how ur in class notes look like, just focus on listening & paying attention and getting down as much info as you can.
when you recopy, read through your notes carefully and figure out the best way to reorganize them; this also helps you retain the info better.
pick a color scheme if you’d like, and don’t shy away from pretty headers and little post-its and anecdotes; color-coding can also be a big help. recopying notes is a great way to figure out your learning style – it took me a good while to figure out the best method for me.
PAY. ATTENTION.
okay, now, read on for the deets!
