The route which lead towards the headquarters’ Pokemon bank was not as easy a trek as Miichi had originally predicted. Mountains of rubble formed new walls that blocked her path, inflamed objects sought to scorch her whenever she made the mistake of trying to edge around them, and no wall or ceiling was safe from collapsing around her; to make matters worse, she had now been trapped thanks to her carelessness.
Following the mental map she had put together over the past three years while serving in the now destroyed organization had ultimately lead her to her doom. She was so close - so close to the bank which was just beyond this mountain of debris that had filled up the path ahead in order to block her advance. She had turned around to find another route when the ceiling, not ever three feet ahead of her, collapsed; trapping her in a space that spelled certain doom should she be unable to escape.
'Calm down,' Miichi breathed in deeply, forcing her lungs to cope with the thick layer of dust which surged into them in the process, and then proceeded to wipe her mind of all previous thoughts. It would be no good if she succumbed to crazed panic; she had to keep her mind clear, her senses sharp, and move slowly if she wished to avoid future situations which would put her at a disadvantage, 'think. There's got to be a way to get out of here. A sunken part in the debris, foot holes to climb up to the next level - anything. Your eyes are fine so use them!'
Letting out the breath she had taken in, she wiped the water which had formed in her eyes due to the smoke away - looking around precisely for any details and hints that there was a way to make it out. There! Up at the top of the debris pile that blocked her advance to the bank, Miichi could just pick out a slightly sunken area. It was small, however, much too small for her to squeeze through; she’d have to climb up and move as much rubble away as she could before slipping through.
Slowly, like she was in no hurry at all to locate the source of the frightened voice, she turned her head towards the area behind her where the ceiling had collapsed. Her eyes ran carefully over the pile of rubble until they came to a stop upon a Grunt - trapped from the waist down underneath it. Miichi moved towards him, falling down on one knee so that she could consider him face to face.
The grunt coughed, blood spewing from his mouth and dripping down his chin as he tried to get a good look at her - but his eyes were being troublesome and didn’t seem to want to focus properly.
"Y-you mean you d-don’t kn-know? Heh … I d-don’t know the de-details but today w-was supposed to be th-e day mutated eggs we-were supposed to h-hatch. H-day."
'H-day? Mutated Eggs? I see, so that's what's going on. An experiment gone wrong is it? How laughable Team Rocket, that you would spell about your own destruction.'
Without any further words, Miichi pushed herself to her feet and made to move away. She was stopped short, however, when the grunt grabbed a hold of her leg. Expressionless, she turned in his direction once more; her eyes flicking over to the pocket knife in his other hand she hadn’t noticed before.
"A-aren’t you going to help me? For fucks sake I’m trapped! Get me out of here, I don’t want to die!"
Before he could make sense of what she was doing, Miichi had already confiscated his knife and placed it securely in the pocket of her skirt. Burgundy eyes studied him critically and without pity as her right hand moved to grip a loose, yet heavy rock of rubble - deciding that in these circumstances it was fine not to cover up her intentions behind a smile.
"You’re legs have undoubtedly been crushed. The blood you keep coughing up informs me that you’re suffering from a great deal of internal bleeding. Even if I was persuaded into helping you, once I got you out you’d be useless to me anyway. I can assure you of one thing though-"
Before the grunt could react, she kicked away the hand gripping onto her and jerked at the rubble she had in her hand. Just like a stack of dominoes, the pile began shifting and falling forward in order to fill in what had been taken away.
"-you’ll have a quick death."
Turning around, she moved towards the pile of debris as the sound of his head being crushed filled in the silence. Miichi scoffed, not even phased by what she had done; right now, she had to worry about getting out of this tiny spans of hall before the rest of the ceiling caved in above her.
It didn’t take her long to clear out the rubble at the top of the debris pile, and soon she was wiggling through the tight space to get to the other side. Her eyes spotted the door that would lead her into the bank, and so with one last push, she easily slid free of her dangerous cave and quickly moved into the room.
She was pleased that the room appeared relatively undamaged, but now the real trouble began. Which Pokeball should she grab? Before she could get any further into her thoughts, the sound of another person entering the room drew her attention towards the door. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion when she heard her frantic words, slightly irritated that the girl had the time to be worried about her. Did she not see what was happening around her? Learn how to care for yourself before offering assistance to others.
'But regardless,' her eyes dropped down to her injured arm, the adrenaline she had been feeling before causing her to temporarily forget about it, 'I need to do something about this before I lose any more blood.'
"Can you do it?" Miichi’s eyes were cold as she considered the other girl, turning her body so that she could face her fully.
"You’re pasty just looking at my blood. If you’re going to faint while wrapping it then I have no need of you. If you think you can handle it, then here."
Reaching into her pocket with her right hand, she pulled out the pocket knife she has acquired from the deceased grunt and held it out to her.
"Cut off a strip of my shirt and then use it to bandage the wound. Make sure it’s tight. If you do it halfheartedly I’ll bleed out."
